Try restarting your game from the main menu option. This time distribute your Kitty points more evenly or with some stats slightly above others depending on the class you want to create.
I have found there are around 4 primary classes you can use: Healer, Mage, Tank, or Damage Dealer depending on the gear you have. Once you work around the classes the game becomes a little more easy.
I also find using full sets of armour instead of mixing and matching to be more beneficial, but that's just my preference.
