First I was like :|
The idea of "upgrading" everything is a novelty that wears thin within the first few minutes, and beyond that the game is a completely unremarkable scrolling shooter
Then I was like :[
cuz I still wanted the achievements
And then I saw the ending screen, and I was like :]
3/5
Fun game, nice little addition to a classic. However, lowering quality doesn't significantly affect performance, which tends to drops to a crawl (on lower end machines) as the game wears on. Don't know if that's Flash's limitations or the program's
Poor job of simulating physics, having to click next or R every time when there really isn't any other option is just plain irritating, and it seems like just another ripoff block stacking game.
Performance just plummets the more enemies the are shown on screen. I don't know if that's just a limitation of Flash or whether you could have written something more scalable, but it's something to think about in the future
Some good concepts, but it's terrible interface, poor AI pathfinding, and seemingly arbitrary system for determining hit rate/damage far outweight what little it did right. 2/5, maybe 3/5 if I didn't want that badge so much.
A fun way to spend a few hours, but the system's just not deep or balanced enough to have any replay value. Case and point: I beat all of the challenges using the deck "Wild Robot Orgy". Hive mind is just too powerful, and there just isn't enough card variety to encourage any strategy other than ****ing steamrolling them with hordes of dudes.
Very cool. Not particularly groundbreaking, but still a lot of fun. The only thing that bugs me is that you can't unselect an off-map attack (you can only switch to another one). 5/5
3/5: too few cards and too many Cthulhus. If you've read the books, it's never like "Oh shi- You Shoggoth'd my Shoggoth!" If you ever decide to go back and try to improve this game, I'd recommend the majority of cards be mundane (ie not a supernatural horror) and that more dimension be added to the summons. Also, choosing what cards are in your deck would make it much less luck-based. But what you've got now looks like an excellent system, it's just tragically underdeveloped in my opinion (but still very fun!)
y in the pictur dus the octopus fly but u stll hav 2 use TONGUE?!?!?! Worst game of the year. (5/5; it's nice to play something different. Second only to You Have to Burn the Rope, as far as I know)
