I was initially very upset with the redesign, but I gave it a chance, and overall I like it, though it can be a bit sluggish at times. There are still two things that are really bugging me:
1. Please make it to where the orange and blue buttons under the progress bars for the businesses do not scroll every few seconds. I like to be able to see what the costs/profits of the businesses are without waiting for the button text to scroll back.
2. Ticker for the achievements: In it's current position, I can't see the cost of the Donut business. I did realize I could click it to make it go away, but it is very annoying and breaks my focus on the game. You could still have the retro style if you have it pop up in bottom left of the screen, then pop back down after a second or two (think old time cash registers), just please, don't make it overlap any game elements!
While it is not something I could see myself playing for hours on end, it is not bad. I couldn't hear the music, but the game seems to work fine. Graphics are not spectacular, but they fit well with the game type. One thing I did notice is that pressing the arrow keys causes asterisks to show along the top of the screen. I am giving it a 3/5.
This is an odd, but very interesting little game. It does feel a little incomplete though. The graphics are nice, but they really do a bad job of showing what is going on in a level. A tutorial is desperately needed, and sound effects would really help. However, I do like the concept. I am giving the current version a 4/5 for the originality alone... but I would love to see a more complete version!
So many bad things I have to say about this. Yes, I liked the first two. This game had so much promise, but failed to deliver on it. Yes, I get that you get to do 'different' things as you 'evolve', but all except the third level swimming is exactly the same with a reskin. And is it just me, or is the background in the 'final race' stolen from the MacOS 10.6 default background? One more thing: Why give the player 500k coins at the end? To buy more seed?! Again, I liked the series, but this is a weak sequel. There is so much more that could have been done, and instead it doesn't even feel like a rehash. It feels like the cash cow that wouldn't die.
Even with max handling upgraded, it is still near impossible to get pickups. The Radar, it does nothing! (seriously, the radar does nothing at all). High level power should not make the rocket go for as long as it does: some skill should still be required. As it stands right now, the game is more chance than anything, just based on chance that you get enough boost to continue. Interesting side note: if you use your boost at a speed below 20mph, you will boost much faster and much longer than you would if your speed was over 100mph.
It works. I am giving it a 3/5. I don't consider a game with no sound to be 'complete'. Also, there has to be 10,000 snake games out there. Not to say it is bad, or to abandon it: Try thinking outside the box a bit, take what you have here and make it somehow new.
I am rating this game 3/5. It is a good concept, and as much as I wanted to continue playing it, it just had too many problems. Here is a rundown (in no particular order):
1. The skill point allocation bug: If you leave the skill window, you do not get to use the skill points.
2. The Minotaur fight is poorly constructed (Hint: You have to hit the Minotaur while he is attacking): Due to the method in which the Minotaur always faces and walks towards the player, you have to take multiple hits to ensure that you hit it. To fix this, make the Minotaur's attacking animation take longer, and make the fireball it shoots move slower.
3. Flight. All of flight is a big pain in the arse. Add a shadow so players can see where they will land. And get rid of the disappearing platforms - this is not a precision platformer, why are those even there? Also, make it to where the platforms disappear after a longer timer, give an additional half second, for example. The game will still be challenging.
Obviously still a work in progress, but shouldn't it have at least been cleaned up before it was posted to Kong, especially as it will be for a paid product? Anyhow, the part of the game that is playable is pretty good, but I am only giving 3/5 due to the myriad of bugs.
2/5. I would give you a 3, but this is too much like your other games. As for the rest of the rating: It works, but it does not hold my attention for very long. With as many games of the same type as you currently have, you obviously have mastered making maze games - maybe it is time to try your hand at something else?
There were a couple of spots that were insanely hard to figure out where I was supposed to go. Otherwise I really enjoyed it. Kinda reminded me of Super Monkey Ball, only without giving me motion sickness. 4/5.
i didn't sprite if 1 = 0 or 2 = 0 or 3 = 0 or 4 = 0 {gotoAndPlay"WTFBOOM!"}
