I saw this game had the badge of the day, so I decided to play it, as I like to get bonus points. And then I got the first easy badge, and I thought this game was alright, so I then got the medium badge, and I thought this game was a good mix of Canabalt and Edmus, and then I kept on playing, and playing... and playing. This is one of the few games that I play past all the badges, this deserves a better score than it score at the moment, as it is one of the truly addicting games on this site! Here's hoping for a sequel!
When I first started this game and I saw the Bonus Shop I groaned, thinking that it would be just another way to get money out of us. Then I clicked on it and my heart rejoiced, it was COMPLETELY FREE!!!
Okay, I have no problems with challenging games, but this? This is a lot of trial and error and much too hard. I played it at least 10 times trying to get past the 3rd character, but his scores are way to high. It needs for one, a save button (as others have said) and then it also needs a difficulty setting (also as others have said).
I really love this series, but did it really have to be a whole new game? Wouldn't a patch make more sense? Because now the only reason I'm playing Hands of War 2 is for the achievements, and it feels like the weaker sibling who got crowned king compared to this one, which is by far the better game, but how many other people who are new to the series not play the previous version of this to get the badges?
My main problem with this game is that you can win by spamming one line with your best troop type, it's always worked for me as Men of the West just using swordsmen and upgrading only swords and armor and speed. I'd still rate it 5/5 though for being a fun game to play, and being the game that brought me to kongregate!
Some advice: For those of us (like me) who have slower computers, go to options and move the slider over to the left, it helps you get those extra frames per second you need.
The upgrades are awesome, as are most of the levels, besides a few I don't care for much. But the main thing I would ask for would probably be more levels, as fifteen doesn't seem enough, I quickly got through all of them, not with brilliant ratings, but if they doubled it to thirty levels I think it would have a longer lasting appeal.
While I have yet to get the "I Like Turtles" badge, it must be possible, since according to the number of people who got the "Fun and Profit" badge, about one eighth of the people got the "I Like Turtles" badge, meaning that people like me who still haven't got it must just be very bad at this game.
