This game doesn't work. When I pick up a sheep and place it on the dragon egg, nothing happens, but I don't have the resources to do anything else.

I have a minor bug report: Both the C-c-combo achievement and Easy as Pi* unlock the Two Slices trick.

I think that sometimes, when the knockback wave gets really powerful (all level point upgrades, achievement level 4 or 5), and you push an enemy offscreen with it, the enemy sometimes gets "stuck" there and it makes you unable to complete the level. This has happened to me before. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you'll make, flippet! This game is well made, aside from this one glitch.

Developer response from flippet3

:p. Thanks man! :)

Does every click on a girl count as a "poke" when their hearts are maxed for that section, or is it on a cooldown? Because "poking" seems to make the sound effect only once every few seconds, and it seems to take a long time to get those poking achievements.

Developer response from SadPandaStudios

Yeah those achievements aren't possible to finish in the current build. Auto clickers coming soon!

What exactly does the reset multiplier do? Does it only multiply the effects of everything (more money from jobs, for example), or does it multiply the speed of certain things as well?

I made my small octopus fall into the ocean once. I lost the level. Octopuses live in the ocean. I fail to see the problem here.

I've been noticing that sometimes, when I buy an upgrade meant to decrease the effects of something (weight, for example), it INCREASES those effects instead. That might be why the game feels so grindy. I'm not a big fan of paying candies to go from 10,201.2 weight to 10,283.5.

I think I found a bug: in the final room, I can't destroy the red crystal, no matter what I do. Honestly, if you're going to post a Ludum Dare game, and expect people to play it AFTER the contest is over, you might want to run through it a few times and fix things.

Developer response from Arkeus

I've ran through it dozens of times, actually, and have never seen this problem. And judging by the scoreboard others aren't having the problem either. What kind of problem are you seeing? Are you able to shoot it while in the correct dimension that matches the crystals border? Or are you having trouble avoiding the spikes while you shoot it?

This game is, in my opinion, the best of this genre of game that Flipline Studios has made. My one major complaint is that, while it's very easy to find items, it's crazy hard to find relevant items (they goes for recipes too.) It fits the setting better, but it makes the gameplay a good bit more frustrating.

Pretty decent game. I'm not a fan of having a boss insta-kill an entire lane of defenders arbitrarily, but it's not something that ends my game instantly. However, if you make a big mistake, there's no "restart" or "quit to menu" options. I don't want to restart my file just because I didn't start a stage with enough money.

I haven't commented on any of the Pet Protector games yet, but I have played them, and I've always had two issues with them: 1. The "step forward, step back" approach to skills has never made sense to me. 2. I wish I could see what the skills actually translate to in terms of hard stats. I don't care as much about how much Melee Mastery I have, for example: I mainly want to see if I can actually hit whatever I'm fighting. The stat numbers are less important as what they represent in actual situations. You did that right in your Mercantile stat, where you can see how much that changes the sell price of objects you pick up in the game.

This game is as unforgiving as everyone else says it is, and its frustrating, but otherwise good. I have one suggestion though: when you die, if you return to the same place, you have a chance of retrieving your stuff, right? Well, with a completely black map, it's impossible to tell where you died last unless a bunch of people are still there. However, I know that filling in the map is a way to obtain a fame boost, so leaving the map filled in after each life would be kind of cheap. My suggestion would be to have "grayed-out" sections of the map that previous lives have covered. It wouldn't count towards your current life's steps, and if you choose to go to a different realm, dying again will erase that and replace it with the latest "gray" map. That way, players know where they can go to retrieve their stuff, or where they may need to avoid for a while, without influencing the fame boost "achievements" that they would otherwise be able to obtain.

The mana balance in the early levels is COMPLETELY nonexistent. I've put up to 15 stars at once into the dragon staff upgrade by Level 6, and still found myself running short on mana far too quickly. Every time, I'd need to use that mana to restore the HP of a unit that was running low. But I know that if I focus on one unit at a time, I'll be completely overwhelmed within seconds. In thinking about it, either there's not enough mana to go around, or there aren't enough stats to go around, at least for the hero characters. This game has some of the most ridiculous artificial difficulty that I've experienced in a long time. It isn't truly challenging; that is, changing the way you play the game doesn't affect the outcome for most people. For a game that looks and sounds as good as it does, I expected MUCH better gameplay.

This is pretty good work. Not bad on the difficulty, and a decently humorous storyline too. I have a few minor gripes, but nothing that would keep me from playing the game: 1. Buffs/debuffs do not work on most (all?) bosses, and aren't really necessary unless you've been putting off upgrading your equipment for a long time, in which case you likely wouldn't have the MP to keep yourself buffed/your enemies debuffed. 1b. Buffs only last a few turns, so I have to continually recast buffs, which is especially troublesome when you need to focus attention on the boss. 2. There are several examples of blue (purple?) equipment that are just plain better than red equipment of the same level and rarity. There doesn't seem to be much use in all that variety if there are some equips that are clearly better than others. Otherwise, this is a good game! I'd say 4/5.

This is a fairly good game, but it seems like units at the front become EXP hogs until the enemies become too powerful, and then your weaker units can't help you. This is a huge balance issue that has never been corrected in the Protector games.

It's pretty good for its genre, but it's extremely hard to tell when you're about to plow into a ship, UFO, speed gate, or thundercloud. If you're trying to get the "don't touch anything" or "good weather" in-game achievements, it's very counterproductive to make it that hard to see anything above you. A radar screen, or something like it, would've fixed that up nicely. Everything else I wanted to say has already been commented upon.
