The pvp aspect of this game, as well as the buggy as hell AI during combat (between melee units not standing guard where I order them to, and everyone deciding to not attack from time to time), makes this game far less enjoyable than it should be. Nothing ruins the fun mood of a game like watching someone just standing there watching a fellow survivor get mauled, or logging on for the day to find some d-bag's torn your base up and robbed you while you were sleeping.
I find the lack of 30 degree range to be crippling to this game; day 3 is damn near impossible when I have aliens clipping past a flamer's range, then eating everyone on the field because I simply can't guard my back when my front is way more important to guard. Please consider doing this, even if it means a reduced back range.
My only problem with this game is having to make a chart of who has what armor set at what level for all ten of them; When I go questing and I find something from an armor set I have for somebody else, 75% of the time I was buying it at the same tier as what they already have, effectively wasting my money.
Other than that, this has been an amazing game.
Crafting was one of the more appealing things to me and to screw up time and again to grind that skill was exciting, and the payoff for finally being able to make a powerful weapon and use it after all that work was just awesome. But not being able to buy resources at any point and not getting any resources from the tactical campaign really sucks the fun out of the whole thing tenfold; it makes me want to never craft anything ever in fear that I'm not gonna have enough resources for the big shiny weapon at the end. It makes the whole game feel like a handcuffed beat-em-up where you pray you find a good set of equipment rather than working your way to buying enough things to build your skill to be able to build that big shiny equipment set you want.
One thing I am liking though is the tactical mission / troops upgrade, sans the lack of crafting items complaint above. However, because of the aforementioned crafting handicaps, this game is definitely less exciting than Crusade.
This goes without mentioning that if you're using any unit besides the mediocre peasants (who are only good for fodder), you only get around 6 of them for a vastly heightened price (even if they're not a whole lot better in combat). I can understand capping the really good units, but the mid tier and low tier units suffer the same agonizing cap? It makes using any deck without peasants a big hail mary in terms of having enough guys to go around.
Game needs to be rebalanced badly in terms of the sudden difficulty jump. I'm finding it terribly difficult to beat anyone a second time, even when I either attempt to dismantle their advantages or build my decks to match them. It's really tiring, and frankly, I'm really not enjoying this game past the first fight with Veronica when you actually stand a chance to win. Is the point to lose every match, get a handful of coins, repeat fifty times, then maybe have enough to buy a few cards? Because that's pretty much all I got here. I'm not terribly wonderful at card games, but this's ridiculous.
