When "releases those pieces back into the world she never asked to be a part of," possible allusion to abortion. Hence short time period Genes of one man, but symbolic of the others she took pieces of.
World she'd never asked to be a part of: schizophrenia has trigger & genetic component. Parent had the disorder, unmedicated/denied treatment =>she grows up bad home. Explains why she clings to rapist, why hallucination is her rapist, why she is comforted by him.
"He" returns. "He's" not happy. She's afraid he's not. She abandoned him. Reason for suicide. Pills? World fades. Heart beats wildly. Symptom of overdose. Everything fades to darkness. She'd fantasized of being taken to nothing by him. Suicidal for some time? Onset of schizophrenia?
"From here on there is nothing, just as there was before."
Her heart stops beating at fade. Returns to "before".

"He" has control over her, has her do what her rapist did; as a part of her, she is "bringing them to him." Not raping, but sleeping with them, literally taking them in, the "significant pieces" of them. Could be their genes. They determine who are as a person, and to an extent in intellect and personality.
She finds a true connection with someone, from whom she doesn't just want the significant piece. The psychosis eases. It's noted the desire for his presence still lingered, but waned significantly.
The person is gone, be it by her emotional failures (hinted), death (possibility; mentions not answering feelings if waited too long).

Also had thoughts on the meaning of this game. Posted on newgrounds, transferring it over. Originally played this game at 14, shortly after release. I'm 22 now. Loved it then and now. Jackasses in the 3rd level that push you back upward pissed me off. Found Coil again and again. Years ago, got sexual element with egg, blastocyst, fetus. I never thought of meaning though.
I see psychosis, vivid hallucinations in this. Schizophrenia. I see this in a short period, three or four months.
Trigger: rape.
Prominent visual hallucination: Rapist.
Rapist impregnates her, given her something, but also taken a piece of her—left her feeling empty. She gets attacked though, why her hallucination takes his form. His presence is frightening. She may know he's not real, but still finds him comforting.
