I was giving away a Steam key, a Kong PM would’ve done the job. (And adv0 unblocking me for a day would’ve enabled that.) Nikeas was nice and passed the key on to adv0 for me, and ironically it turned out adv0 already owns the game. So, much ado about nothing.

How do I send a private message on Steam to someone I am not friends with? The only way I can think of is to have a mutual friend invite us both into group chat and then leave, which seems a lot of effort. The “send message” options appears only on the profiles of friends, and adv0’s profile isn’t even public.
I also want to stress that me adding someone to Steam is not a judgment of them as a person. I know I have added some terrible people who are/were pleasant to play games with.

For moral systems, I’m really shaped by a) a Christian perspective where we have freedom of will for a reason, and b) “Zen and teh Art of Motorcycle Maintenance” by Robert Pirsig which is, at same time, about a road trip, a life, and Plato’s “Phaidros”. This is a book which I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who likes to think. Pirsig basically argues that PLato and Aristotle had it subtly wrong, but that this makes all the difference; and that the sophists may actually have been right. The book asks the question where our notion of “good” comes from, and it posits that this is primary notion from which everything else follows, which means that the approach in the Platonic dialogue with Euthyphro can’t lead to aresult because it asks the wrong question. Pirsig also wrote sequel, “Lila”, which is subtitled “An inquiry into morals”, and I read it but it didn’t make me think as much as ZAMM did. Maybe it mostly went over my head at the time, and I should reexamine it.
