Waste heat mechanic has some definite pros and cons. It encourages players to use outlets and plating, but by practically forcing players to use them it could also make the game feel less flexible. Heat exchangers being able to move an infinite amount of heat between them makes them feel pretty nice, and it makes low tier heat exchangers useful before having the funds to upgrade them; however this is countered by the need for exchangers when using outlets, and with the waste mechanic outlets are no longer optional making exchangers a requirement to progress as well. There's some definite number adjustments that should be made to smooth progression. Something like a random quest system would be nice too. Understandably the first game didn't make much money and developers spend a lot of time making these games. It's reasonable that they'd want to monetize it, but too much reliance on monetization to progress ruins a game, as many others have said.
On the left side where it lists raiders in a section titled "Raider Overview", it says that I have an archer named "Mako". I wanted to change his equipment for a specific fight, but could not find him in the Raider skill and equipment window. After comparing the names, I realized that he was named "Zepto" in the equipment menu. The other 9 names were the same. I'm not bothered by this too much, but... what? I don't understand why the names are different. Obviously some sort of glitch, but... wat?
Pompidom, you are incorrect. Vents are not the only thing that dissipate heat. http://i.imgur.com/JiE99Iu.jpg Not a single vent, and it dissipates 495.175 Sp heat per tick.
415 Sp/tick with a rank 47 Phlebotinum Core. http://i.imgur.com/JiE99Iu.jpg I'd say that Phlebotinum Core scales too well, it should have diminishing returns the higher level it goes.
After a prestige for a ridiculous amount of exotic particles (Probably into the quadrillion) and refreshing my web browser, this is what I see. http://i.imgur.com/CpiGIal.jpg
Holy Hell. I managed to get 3.9 million exotic particles from before, now I have 635 million if I prestige! (To be fair, the only way I got to 3.9 million to begin with was by abusing the old outlet glitch which has been fixed. My situation shouldn't be considered for balancing purposes.)
Do we really want Cabe Johnson managing the lemonade stand? I mean... we'd have to buy extra fire insurance, and upgrading the little umbrellas would only allow for delayed combustion.
So, I've "beaten" a number of levels on Endurance, and I began to wonder, at what stage does it end? I usually tab out to a different window or go do something else while it's running cause I thought it'd go on forever. Today, I decided to sit down and watch the counter (I just skip all the waves once I have my setup completed) and I noticed... Endurance has 1337 waves.
Eh. Maybe I need a better processor, every now and again I get some game lag. My processor's the oldest part of my computer by now, silly little Core 2 Duo. Part of me thinks that a flash game shouldn't require much of a processor, but it could be a number of other things, and I was still able to play through the game. The only thing I wanted to complain about in terms of battle mechanics was one time when two of my party members were dead and the last one was frozen. If all 3 died, I would have had the backup come in and I would be able to revive most of my team, but instead I completely lost that turn and nearly wiped. Simple suggestion, offer the option of switching out a knocked out party member even if no other member is capable of performing any actions. Also seems odd to me that I can switch out stunned characters but not frozen ones, but that could just be a nuance.
My best performance was when I didn't worry about my time at all. Whenever I broke my old record, I became conscious of my performance and lost. Got scores of 52 and 58 seconds before I beat the game. When I did, I relaxed because time didn't matter anymore and went from a 58 second record to 87.17. I would have kept going too, but someone barged into my room and distracted me. It's really a game that doesn't seem to get harder, the only thing that might make it harder is stress and anxiety.
