Is there any chance of there being more configurations to the dungeon layouts? The only thing that I find really boring about the game is that the various levels always seem to be the same layout with the door to the top of the first room leads nowhere, and the two sides go up to either a dead end or the boss. There are still a lot of other ways that you could connect all of the rooms, and I think it would add even more replay-ability to this game.
The XP bit is kinda confusing to me, because there is no actual use for it. The score doesn't really seem to matter either since there is no submitting it or a leader board or anything like that. The hit detection and movement are good though. Overall just seems rather incomplete, and some more features probably should have been added before this test release was made.
How I beat level 8 was I got better at the other levels and got my rank up, then I unlocked the AA-Laser and used that to destroy the helicopters. The AA-Laser is awesome.
So additing. o_o All this game really needs is the storage of previous high scores and it would be nearly perfect. The only other thing that holds this game back is the seemingly unfair code, but that is what happens with random level generation.
there are definitely some balance and play issues that have been pointed out. my recommendation is that you work on those, and then release a full version later, as you have listed the version as .06
