It would be nice to have a changelog news update for the update that came out today. Also would like it if it would save the state of the auto dark burst.
Yesterday was a 'soft' update. It's not really quite finished yet. I will put out full notes when I round things out. The only reason I put it out is because people had been waiting a while and I wanted to have the achievements available at the very least.
This is very nice. My one suggestion would be to change the color of the bar that fills up when you have enough money to buy stuff. Maybe a lighter tone of grey or something to improve visibility. Keep up the good work and stay awesome.
If you don't know localstorage has a hard limit on how much space it can use per domain name. This means that if someone plays a lot of games on a site they will reach a point where they can't create new saves with localstorage. That might explain some lost saves issues. Also make sure new versions of the game can load old versions saves.
It does -- 5-10MB depending on the browser. IndexedDB has a 50MB or so limit. The real issue is Unity WebGL sometimes has issues with cross-domain iframes for IndexedDB (like Kong). Hopefully with a copy of the save file being stored in localstorage as well as the main copy in IndexedDB, the save file issues will be drastically reduced. As for save files being loaded by newer versions, the method I'm using allows save files from any version to be loaded on any version (basically XML, but not "true" XML).
Came back and my save was gone. I even went to the trouble of manually saving before logging off. Are you using localstorage instead of cookies for saving?
Using IndexedDB for storage. Don't think I could reliably fit the game data in a cookie with the way it's stored (it would take some compression, an export string is somewhere around 5-8k right now)
Edit: I might try a second backup in localstorage as well, in case the indexeddb fails.
Great concept but the execution is a bit faulty.
WASD doesn't seem to be working and the hunger drains a bit too fast to be able to focus on everything.
Still pretty great for a first game. Keep up the good work.
