The San Diego Chargers selected
me in the first round of the 2001 NFL Draft, as the fifth overall pick.I immediately became the starting running back with the Chargers and has started all but one game since. The one game I did not start was due to a choice by the coach to sit me out during the last regular season game before the playoffs – not due to any kind of injury. I have achieved immediate success in the NFL, rushing for over 1,200 yards and making over 50 receptions in each of my seven seasons. I have also proven to be effective as a passer, having completed eight career passes, seven of them for touchdowns and a career passer rating of 154.4.¹⁴
