Awesome music, but I'm stuck with no way to win. With one key left, when I was in the hole where you have to jump up and swap in mid air, I accidently got out of order and picked the "2nd to last" screen where there's one hole to fall into it and then one way down on either side instead of jumping up into the room where all it is is a key. From the map view, it looked to me like a treasure chest. So now I haven't unlocked the last room and there's no way to leave the room I'm in. Bummer I won't get to the end..
Good game, bought the full one and have played it a little while. Some improvements: I don't know if I'm crippling myself by buying lots of recruits now so that they'll level up - I'm worried that I'll be left with not enough money to afford the later units when they become available because they'll be too expensive. Better descriptions or an ability to "fire" the people in your party so you could make the next recruit cheaper would be good.
Also, and this would be a big one, but replaying the same map and fight takes away from the RPG elements because their is no story to explain it. What if you had some kind of random terrain generator that would let you go on "expeditions" to random nearby areas for the loot, exp, etc. so that you wouldn't need to grind earlier fights. It would be consistent with the story and more interesting as well. 5/5 for the demo, 4/5 for the paid game (there's a lot higher standards when you pay moneys for it lol)
SOPA has been dead a while now, all the sponsors dropped support about a week ago. But I bet nolanlabs was working on it already and didnt want to waste the idea. Funny!
I hate trackpads, I barely ever use mine as I bought a mouse for $4.99 with my laptop, but by using both hands I was able to easily get 35 fish with 8 seconds left on the clock. Sorry about the inconvenience, but if you get the hang of this it should actually be really easy.
art, music, graphics, concept are all 5/5, the sluggish controls and the laptop mouse make it just too frustrating to keep going..also a couple glitches where a wall would pop into where i was...a little revamping and it would be incredible
great concept...no reason really for unity though.... execution could use a little help, the controls were a tiny bit laggy (might be just my stone age computer, in that case i wish there were quality settings (or a java version since there's not much reason for 3d)) it was a little too hard on a laptop pad mouse, i suspect it would be a little too easy with a regular PC mouse...
BUG: (clarification) With the addition of the 100% medals, it seems like the regular gold medals don't show. You don't see the gold emblem on the level completion screen, and the level itself on the map stays green lke it's the current level.
With regard to the frag bomb, I did get the frag bomb, but not until the first level that the heavy cannon ball showed up. I don't think it's adding into the arsenal on that level 46.
Enjoying the black blocks, added definitely a puzzle element/little difficulty there!
BUG: (i think) Also, the green hexagon on the map is supposed to represent your current level I think, and then your medal color designates the results of the previous levels, but now a ton of the levels are green on the map, like 31-48 or there abouts.
dont downplay your entry in a contest laxjeff! i very much preferred this to physis (its simplicity, seemed to be easier controlled (but it may be that your game is just much more friendly to slower computers like mine) but i will say the ramp with the balls was enough to stop me playing :(. your little dude needs more agility, i felt like i was running the NFL combine! i would get to the top but then the strafing back and forth had me losing ground and i never did make it to the top.
fun game though, fix that part, more levels and its a 5/5!!
Great game, great implementation of unity...the only other things ive found are the victory noise being looped when you get 100% and the combo resetting to zero while the combo bar is still depleting, but that's already been mentioned. Love it, can't wait to see the full game!!
just a typo, but on the instructions, the "charge" says "high" whereas i think it might supposed to be "fast"? the other charge ratings are based around speed.
