You don't get any junk mail, and it's not really losing money considering you chose it. losing money would be, say, dropping it. You've chosen to pay for the service, you know what that means so you haven't 'lost' anything. I think it's worth it if you have the money, it's fairly cheap and members is long enough to keep me entertained for longer than most console games etc for a fraction of the price.
