Game makers need to learn how to write better than third grade level. This game and Epic War seem like the writing (mainly in instructions) was done either by grade-schoolers, or someone who does not speak English as a first language. Either spend more time on the writing, so it seems like you actually put work into your game, or get someone to help if you don't write very well. I'm available, PM me. Or at least use spellcheck. "Everytime" is not a word!
I am pretty sure the instructions were written by someone who did not pass 9th grade English. Or maybe its just Engrish. Doesn't make the game worse, just interesting to see it in an otherwise well made game.
An instruction manual online or in-game would be useful. Not that I can't figure out how to play, but there are some things I might be missing. In battle there is a balloon icon and a ))) looking thing that I think mean waves left and balloon in the current wave, but they change kind of funny. Also, do the green and red arrows under the level select mean anything? They change direction as far as I can tell, but why? I think this game is deeper than it seems, but some stuff isn't explained and you have to figure out (blue dots for levels). Could use an optional tutorial.
How about a badge for just beating the game. Not that the other badges are the worst, but shouldn't some be for just progressing in games, not only for specific events or beating the game in a certain way. The badges don't add much to this game, and now that I beat it, I'm not going to play it more trying to get the badges.
Wow, I am unlucky. It took me 34 zombies to finally get one to drop the trilobite key. Thats down in the last 3 percentile. It took a long time. Now on to bigger and better things.
Minor glitch I found:
After getting Vehrn, and going back to Canonia, Vehrn does not show up in the Shop. Where you can buy things and place them in the inventories of each character, it shows 3 people, and has a space for the 4th (including the arrows to show if an item improves stats), but does not show Vehrn or allow you to place things in his inventory.
This isnt a big deal, and it probably doenst even need to be fixed in this Chapter, but its something to test before releasing the next chapter.
Thanks for the game Pseudolonewolf, I liked it.
