Increase the number of upgrades, maybe round-gated, like after round 25 the battlegrounds grows bigger and you can have a bigger castle. Another improvement can be a research system, with researches progress by time, but this one requires more work than the others, so it is less relevant.
Some advices: winning or losing a level has no impact on gold, except on letting you go to the next round, which worths a bit more. Let people win a flat amount of gold on winning a round, like round 25 -> 2500 gold.
Talent % dmg is useless on the laser, 1% of 30 is nothing, it's not showed (i don't know if it is calculated).
Make more changes appear on upgrade or progress, like enemies chaning colors, different enemies (something simple, like the green jelly gaining a bow tie) this will make players feel better about going on with the rounds.
Last but not least... for what can we use the gems? only for the bonus gold? Add some features unlocked by gems, so players will have to choose between an hefty amount of instant gold and some long-run upgrades, like the talents.
Final report: a funny game, let it run on background, return, buy some upgrades, repeat. A small, nice, timekiller. 4/5 cheers =)
Good suggestions! The gem thing already exists, you may have just not unlocked it yet (Research Tower).

great concept, awful game. Just run in circles waiting for your skills to charge, hoping there isn't too much spear throwers or jump frogs... Forget about you allies. really, do it.
How can i lift the boxes? i'm stuck on lvl "The man" due to the fact that when i press up i raise my hands to the sky, instead of picking up things... so i guess i'll praise the sun.
Another note about buffing Magic: staves which increase a specific Job, should increase it more that the food given by the food staves... otherwise the food staves would be always more powerful than the job ones, because you can buy more with them.
The staves are way too underpower. After the 5 minutes where you unlock them, they fall far behind. Waiting for minutes for a net worth of more or less 30 seconds? Empower them please, make them scale better with the number of masters or their building level.
A very good game, it deserve a 5/5. But i really hate energy sistem. So i rated it 1/5, i'm sorry. Energy sistems are just for moneygrab. Please, remove it.
Energy problem was fixed. You can get unlimited energy, you just need to complete levels without casualties. But even if you fail to beat theme, you can gather reward for simple quests, that gives you free energy. Also you have a lot more maximum capacity so you can test more tactics and lose much more energy on it.
