Getting Brilliant on the last two levels was hard! After many tries, I learned that placing ballistas and catapults as close to the spawn points as possible made it possible to kill the ninjas and Champion Ninjas because the splash damage could hit them even while invisible. Add a crypt for fear or freeze and voila, Hard badge.
