I love this game (both 1&2). It's really challenging for my mind and that makes it very addictive, It would be awesome if the community could upload custom-made puzzles and rate them on image quality & puzzle difficulty. Maybe you could even do it like steam workshop. In fact, this would be an indie game I would gladly pay for.

when the last picture, rainbow, is reset, it seems it reverts back the income per second. I suppose you'll be adding more levels, but in the meantime you could make it so that each time you complete the last level the income adds up instead of resetting. otherwise good game with a lot of potential

Very fun and addictive game. I'd suggest some more upgrades other than more balls, and also permanent upgrades, so that one can reach higher stages slowly.

Guys, mute the browser tab. It's easier than complaining here. BTW to play the game idle, open it in a new window (in FF, in another tab it stays paused, in another window it keeps playing. Same for many games)

- comment after finishing game 4/4: There is a good game, I'd even say a type of games, hidden here somewhere beneath all the sloppy balancing work of the current developers. I'm not a game developer nor I intend to be, but I'd love to see any step up to the task and create a clone of this game that does not suck. The many comments of kong users here that like this game mechanics but are frustrated with the horrible, horrible implementation, are IMHO a good indicator that a cool game similar to this one would be a hit. Please, someone, if you wanted to do a fantasy tactics game at some point, just get a hold of the community in a forum thread or somewhere else and create something beautiful. To the developers of this game: I don't really know what you were thinking. You have a great idea for a game and you implement it like noone has betatested it, ever. What the heck is wrong with you?

- comment after finishing game 3/4: Do not give out gold to players like it costs you real money. Don't set up incredibly step difficulty increases near the end of the game (like Cursed Mountain #10) forcing the players to grind senselessly to advance a level (at least we could get 2.400 gold a pop by polimorphing the skyscraper, which should not be possible - bosses should have a higher resist to one-shotting spells - but were not for this trick I wouldn't have even bothered to upgrade my troops and finish the game).

- comment after finishing game 2/4: In any case here's my call to others developers who plan to create games: please make a clone of this game, one that works. The idea of this game is very cool, and is something that is not abundant in kongregate. A game where you hire, train, then deploy and send to battle a bunch of heroes with their troops, while you as a general watch the battle from above and can issue orders and cast spells. The idea is awesome and there are not many games like this one. You end up like, really caring about growing and grooming your heroes, and that's cool. And that's where the coolness ends. Apart from that, the game grinding is absurd. Many, many things shouldn't cost gold, like spell upgrading or recipe making. When you clone this game, use the gold just for hero recruiting and troop levelling and nothing else, because everything else is ok being upgraded with experience (like hero levelling).

- comment after finishing game 1/4: I finished the game. It's a bit masochistic, I know. I wanted to know if at some point the game regained any luster. As I said in a previous comment, I wanted this game to be good, because the premise is cool and the game seems very likable at the beginning. After finishing the game, I can say 2 things: either none of the developers have given it a complete run, because there are a few big insanities down the road, or they have and are very conscious of what it takes to finish the game, and deliberately inflict that pain upon players. In any case I downgraded my rating from an initial 4/5 to 2/5 because they are either lazy and refuse to update it, or sadistic because they don't care.

More issues: the main problem, IMO, is that gold does not scale well with stages. The most efficient way to grind is repeating lvl 1, which should not be desirable. More advanced levels should be more rewarding to grind, also the 1st time you complete a level it could have a special bonus in gold and items. Spells are absurdingly annoying to level up. Casting them 50 times to get to level 2, per each spell? Absolutely too much hassle. What's up with the runes that you cannot open? Do this happen when you already have all the proper element spells? Perhaps you could use extra runes to level up spells.

I want to like this game. It's the kind of game I love. There are many unpolished issues with the gameplay that detract a lot from the experience, so I'm giving a 4/5. Some stuff that could be easily improved: * More info. As some have said previously, it's hard to know what's each thing for. * Rebalance the grind. It's a little bit too grindy. * Show battle results (items screen, then xp screen) either all at once, or all at once after clicking. Too much time wasted showing each hero XP increase, when you have many heroes. * In barracks, let it auto-scroll when going through the heroes, and/or let us use keyboard arrows to navigate them. Show a check, or make it sortable, so that we can see which of them are pending a level up.

Question for the developers: I've downloaded the app for iOS (quite cool, BTW). It seems in the next patch I'll be able to create an account in iOS (as you have answered in another comment). When syncing, which progress will prevail? Because I wouldn't like to lose the progress I've got on Kongregate. Thanks in advance for the answer, and for the great & fun game.

Developer response from ScaryBee

Well the save games are completely incompatible at the moment so you won't be able to sync between the devices until iOS gets the following patch. The way the system is designed is to only save to the cloud the one with the most infinity tokens then if it's a tie the most monster kills.

Could the prices for the upgrades have dots separating each group of 3 numbers? Just as the "current speed". It would make easier to check the prices.

Yes! On the top of the list for a major upgrade or sequel! Totally hear what you are saying! Also, thanks for the comment and the play! Best, -Tim

Horribly balanced. You can get stuck on a level forever until you grind enough money to buy more weapons. Incredibly annoying: sell 2nd weapon (shotgun) for 1k in order to pool money reach 4k to buy 3rd weapon, then you can't buy 3rd weapon because not having 2nd weapon locks out the 3rd one, but buying 2nd weapon costs 2k, so I'm 1k the poorer and have to grind again. Ragequit. Have you guys even tested this game before release?

Very original, has a lot of potential, I think this could become a saga like gemcraft or bloons TD. I also like the author's constant refining of the game. It shows a commitment to make a great game. Also, listening and implementing player's suggestions make players give even more suggestions :) For the second part of the saga, a variety of castles with different setups of tower slots, ramps and so on would be cool. Also finite levels (with a "survival mode" level also, resembling this first game), global upgrades, achievements and so on... Another suggestion: there are opposite fire vs. ice mages. The opposite of a necromancer could be a priest. Priest could use light damage, and could heal the castle for a percentage of damage inflicted. Another addition could be machinery like ballistas or catapults, and stationary defences like a castle moat, ground spikes and so on. Great work so far!
