Lots of improvements to this game from the last one. "Grazing" and hitboxes just make this game look closer and closer to Touhou. The only problem is the lack of a focused movement mode that would help me a lot with those really tiny gaps. Other than that. Frantic is the only mode worth playing on.
Very nice shmup game. The difficulty is up there, and the power absorbing aspect is very original. My only complaint is the fact that I can't use my game pad. My keyboard is messed up and can't read my diagonal downs and the mouse was very iffy at times. Otherwise this is a good and very difficult shmup game as it promotes dodging and waiting over blind shooting. People who complain about this need to play some manly shmups like R-Type and Ikagura before complaining about difficulty.
I'm sorry but I'll have to agree with Pennywise. Unfortunately, all games have some luck factor involved, and good games try to eliminate these variables as much as possible. A game like this: randomly generated items such as mines, special bubbles. Placement, and timing appear to have a much bigger influence than the actual player's skill. I have had a whole line of mines pop my bubble at 1500 points many a time before having a minute long invinciblity bubble magnet run for my badge. 2/5
