As for the actual gameplay, it's a platformer of reasonable difficulty where your choices do have an effect on the game, albeit a somewhat minor one. Landings could be a bit slippery, but nothing outrageous. The difficulty curve was pretty nice; the last couple commands sure were tense. All in all, fun to play, very thought provoking.
I'm not sure how I feel about this game, but I think I like it. I guess I don't know if its representative of an abusive relationship, or a healthy Dom/Sub relationship.
I lean toward the latter; the Voice doesn't seem to have any real power. It commands you, but you're free to ignore it. In fact, ignoring it mostly makes your life easier. But ignore it and you get a sad ending. Also, if you obey the Voice (easily in your power), its nice to you. Obeying even makes things easier at the end. And given how contrary it is to you at the start, I read it as playful, not mean.
As for the colors you get for being disobedient, I think that, in going with my "healthy D/s" interpretation, they're representative of confusion over denying something you know to be true. Or perhaps tears clouding your vision as you walk away from someone who loves you. Now that would be tragic.
In conclusion, I t know about anyone else, but I thought of the Voice as male)
Some of the buildings like to fall in just such a way that debris sticks a couple feet above the line. Annoying. The music on the victory screen is fantastic, though!
Good game. I really like the black and white (and red) aesthetic, and the fundamental idea. Nice upgrade system, too. Though I somehow managed to get Around the World without getting Grandmaster Aviator, and that seems kind of odd.
I like the new look of the units, and the mechanics the Warmachine introduces. On the other hand, I'm not too fond of the new character portrait art. It's too... chibi. Especially Pearl.
I played this game around when it first came out, and my reaction is the same. The idea is neat: a dodge game where you have to move around the whole screen in order to survive with random hazards throw in for good measure. The problem is that the pills sometimes just don't spawn for such a long time, there's no way you can survive. If that didn't happen, it's be much less annoying/based on luck.
Wonderful game. The 'net needs more games like this! Though it would have been nice if the majority of the endings didn't require you to be a jerk... Still, great game, you should do more like it.
Very well done game. The controls got a bit sticky sometimes, but decent overall. Interesting physics, too. I liked how the lion looked like he was about to go berserk at the end. Go lion frenzy!
Very well done, (the story was quite fun) but it wasn't clear how much less effective weakened units were. And more info about how much damage a unit was going to do would have been nice; the +/=/- was ok, but was sometimes wrong when it came to highly damaged units.
I liked this more then the other ragdoll games I've played. When I beat the final boss, his last blast took my last life, but I got the badge and saved the earth with "0 spare lives." That was lucky.
This trend of wacky ending songs is starting to bother me. It seems with this game we've jumped straight from "game with a Portal-inspired wacky ending song" to "game that exists solely to facilitate a wacky ending song." Hopefully that means they won't become too popular.
