People keep talking about the story, but all I see is a bunch of "undefined" dialogue. Nobody has mentioned it in the comments and it's not like that in videos of the game, so I'm guessing it broke fairly recently? I tried in a different browser and the same thing happened, by the way. I also didn't get the badge from finishing, but I'll go through again and report that properly later. Probably.
Maybe I was just doing it wrong, but I really hated that combo badge (I got it though). It really highlighted how Charge almost always will miss someone who's running away from you (and sometimes a target that's just standing still), and also how unforgiving the game is about letting the player maintain a combo. As far as skills, I found the jump attack to be the most useful once I got used to it, especially against bosses (and ESPECIALLY in Darwin Mode). When going for the combo badge, it felt more reliable than Charge, which probably ought to have been one's bread and butter for combos. The thing I spammed for the combo badge was jump attack in and teleport out and repeat, which may have been not quite right, but eh.
"No game can be played without the interaction of the player." Progress Quest would like a word with you. Not idle games in general, but that game specifically.
This is an... interesting take on Super Crate Box. And you can't tell me that the similarity is accidental, especially considering all the screenshake on EVERYTHING.
I beat the king... I think? Was something supposed to happen after beating him? The level continued with spawns like normal, then I eventually died and got the standard death screen.
I finished the game and clicked the link at the end leading to its indiegogo page which loaded in this tab instead of opening a new one (why), and when I loaded the game again I had absolutely zero progress. I played a few levels and reloaded the game, and what I had done was saved, so it doesn't seem to be an issue with the saves not working with my browser at all.
Kongregate doesn't allow to open in-game links in a new tab due to user experience/security issues (just imagine those neverending pop-ups). That's why I included information in the Main Menu that if you don't want to close the game, please use the links in the game description (they're outside the game, hence they DO open a new tab). As for the save issue, I'll contact You through the direct message to get more details.
I was going to give this game a 4/5 since it seemed a marked improvement from the previous games, but then the stone tower happened, with its gimmicks that nobody in this day and age thinks well of. Then I was going to give the game a 3/5, but the Gardius fight happened, in which my tank consistently got instagibbed after round two, apparently by way of scripting considering the voice.
I finished the game with Ram, Boss, and Bad Boy, from front to back. Booster just seems... bad. It has an ability that does not involve doing more damage (and almost always only heals itself), and how slow the laser moves basically makes it a downgrade from the minigun, regardless of how much damage is being done.
whitetiger4813, I did in fact have that issue on Firefox. I figured that it was related to my weird problem of how flash on Firefox sometimes interprets mouse clicks twice (often seen in some games as a number skipping from like 2 to 4 when clicking the button to increment it). I switched over IE and didn't have any problems, which is a weird thing to say. It's "nice" to hear that someone else has the same problem, though.
