Great game. Played through a few times, although there's really no reason to build a powerful character because there's no endgame boss. You just make a suicide run up to the trophy and then you win. In fact, since you get experience for picking up gold and items, I'm pretty sure the fastest 'run' of this game would be going Rogue, pumping stealth, and never fighting a single enemy. Just run down stairs as much as possible and then grab the goblet, done. The abrupt ending also makes it all too clear that the talent system is sort of pointless; I've played through with all the classes and I can't remember the last time I saw a reason to use literally ANY of the major class talents in slots 4 & 5. Fireball, Lightning Bolt, Life Spike & Cannibalism, Charge & Power Strike are the best talents in the game by far. Low energy cost, huge damage, great versatility. Warrior is the only class where I purposely get a high level talent - 10% resist all is neat.
I would like to beg, on behalf of all undefined fans, for 2 things.
1: Speed up EVERYTHING. Give us an option to skip the overly long combat animations. I spent 50% of this game watching my character fight. Then, improve the UI to cut down the number of clicks. Like, say, leaving the components in the combine screen.
2: Every single undefined game has a fantastic progression curve of content and systems that I love exploring and playing. Then, it stops - but the game continues. The last 1/3rd of every game becomes a mind-numbing grind, *long* after I've mastered the game and eliminated all challenge. I never thought I'd say this to a developer, let alone my favorite developer, but please cut down the game lengths. Or add more content so that the game is still interesting right up to the end. Let's say - the game should officially end when all my skills are at 500, but *let me keep playing up to 1000 in all skills if I wish.* Don't force me.
Tip for all those complaining about the difficulty curve: Move on to new systems as soon as possible. You can buy level 1 ships there and bring them back to weak systems later for leveling up. Right now I have 8 systems 'saved up' full of old crappy missions.
I've been playing undefined's games since I first played Defender at work and almost got caught :) every time I see a new one I freak with joy. Perhaps today is the day I'll get fired!
Great way to speed up the game - during combat, put on autoattack, and go to another tab in your browser. The attack rounds will not animate and go by very quickly. Saves huge amounts of time.
Haha you guys are so ridiculous. It's a PARODY! It's HILARIOUS when you catch onto the joke. Epic Battle Fantasy? You know, the epic battle rpg players always build up to lvl 999 for? When the secret is it's all just scaled numbers and the same mechanics. backgrounds and graphics can change and the numbers scale up but it's the SAME POINTLESS GAME.
I won a card on a disconnect. Of course, that was 400 wins ago, and the only card I've ever gotten. I pretty much assume I'll never get a card by winning.
