Whenever I try and shoot the shield sentinel, it's shields just go negative and it's health is unaffected

There's a glitch where my level won't end. There's hundreds of fighters and ships spawned but the mission just won't complete. Any help?

can you put in a surrender event, like if your enemy is massively outclassed, he'll surrender without you having to bomb the planet?
