If you are going to take away the auto reset for favors you need to tweak how gifts are generated. Gaining favor rapidly through multiple resets is the only way to get gifts at a decent rate. There is no point in waiting around for favors to stack up if you just have to do the same amount of manual resets to get anywhere on gifts.
