That was fun! The towers aren't necessary to beat the game, so there may be some balancing issues there. I beat the game in 15 min 28 sec using only units and attack / armor upgrades. I really like it!
Hi! This is a nice work in progress. I'm a fellow Unity developer. I'd be interested if, in your YouTube series, you could add an episode covering how to put a game on Facebook. I've got two games on Kongregate, but was never able to figure out Facebook's incredibly obfuscated system for uploading games.
Hi! Fellow Unity Dev! Nice game! I like the background and the particle effects on the ship's bullets. I think the smoke on the player's ship, and the exhaust, need a little work though. The bombs the enemies dropped didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the graphics, but I realize you just made it to learn the Kong API. I made a vertical shooter as well. Check out RedShift :-)
Cool game! I love the visual style! Nicely done! The music fits very well too! I confess I didn't understand why I was losing. I found if I stood on a letter and pressed Up and Left/Right at the same time, I could submit a letter and avoid falling. I did this a bunch and but it would randomly just end the game. I played 3 times and it never became clear to me. Anyway, this is a very creative idea and the implementation is awesome! It's great to meet a fellow Unity Developer!
Heh, funny :-) I think the grass should grow faster. If you're into boredom, why don't you have a look at my game RedShift? heh Always great to meet a fellow Unity Dev!
Sweet! Tempest! And a fellow Unity Dev! Nice work man! Keep it up! There's all kinds of great directions you can go from here! Looking forward to see this develop further! Please have a look at my game RedShift since you seem to be in to arcade style games. :-)
This is cool! I suck at it, but it's neat! I would suggest adding a blob shadow to the cube. This will help the player know when the cube is on a platform (or over a platform during a jump). The music is pretty sweet! I found the mouseLook + keyboard controls a bit unnatural. Btw, thanks for the comment and suggestion on my game! I used to have keyboard controls, but I turned them off because everyone wanted mouse support. Go figure. I'll have a look at making them an option. Lookin forward to seeing this game progress!
Thanks Mad Machine! I'll look into adding a shadow, might be a bit tricky (indy unity has no shadow support D:) but I think i have something brewing involving raycast and, XZ coordinate copies and an image plane... Hmm...
Mouselook was something I added because everyone said keyboard control was too difficult by itself D:
Yeah, it's hard to please everyone, ain't it! XD
No problem! I'll be watching your game for progress, Nice to meet a fellow dev you can share ideas and progress with! :D
Nice! I really like the explosions! It's a very creative idea, although I found the depth perception fairly awkward. I died several times when I thought I had moved well enough out of the way. Also, once I figured out what was going on, I found it difficult to aim, and the initial shot count seemed pretty low. Still, it's a nice effort! I'm a fellow Unity game developer myself and I love to see Unity projects here on Kong!
Hey fellow Unity developer! This is a fun little game. I LOVE the explosions! I'm a particle effects guy, so I love great explosions. The asteroids were nice too, although the texturing needs a little work -- it doesn't quite look right. Perhaps the texture is mildly stretched? The smoke trailing from the asteroids doesn't look quite right. I think you could do without the smoke. Asteroids don't trail smoke anyway (but comets do!). The guided missile feature was interesting. Not quite my cup of tea, as I prefer fire-and-forget (either unguided bullets, or self-guided missiles). But that's just me. I would recommend having a look at the missiles and getting them to rotate to point in the direction they are moving when you guide them. Lastly, I like the music! Nice work.
Hey cheers for the comment and thanks for playing. The particle effects are one of my favourite aspects of the game too glad others like them. We agree with you about the asteroids and its something that'll be addressed in a future update to the game, the smoke is more to help indicate what type of asteroid it is which could probably be changed a little to emphasise that more. The guided missle feature as I think I've said was a bug that we decided to keep in, it seems to be a bit hit and miss so far so I guess its something we'll have to discuss to change or keep. Missile rotation is definitely getting done though! Thanks again for the nice comments, hopefully you'll enjoy the game even more when it gets updated.
It seems that it does that for only some computers. I've tried it on a mac and i didn't have that issue. I will work on it. Thanks.
