To protect the VIP, you need to use the Turret boost when near helipad. The Turret can stun and deal a considerable damage to the robots.

The badge is earned. It is just not updated in the achievement tab. If you look in profile, you will have badge.

Very refreshing to see games like that in the Hot New Games Tab. Well deserved !
