It's frustrating how the enemies just get on top of you and pretty much become impossible to shoot. So frustrating that it isn't even worth continuing. Especially when the game isn't exactly original.
After a couple of days consistently playing, the game deleted my saved data. It was at this time that I realized I wasn't having enough fun to even dare start over.
I came back to play this game after years and have found that the backwards throwing glitch now happens in about 1 out of 5 normal throws. Very strange.
The slamming mechanic is flawed. It isn't precise and thus requires just a touch too much trial and error to get it to work. It makes the game feel tedious. An okay game, but I couldn't see why anyone would return to it or seek out a sequel.
I feel like the Badge of the Day doesn't benefit games, because only when seeking a badge does one really notice how tedious and grindy a game can get.
Playing it back in 2011/12 and playing it now it's pretty clear that the game hasn't aged too well, but I do have to give it some kudos...
On the other hand, there are some things that were annoying then and still are now. The multiplier is difficult to raise since the level generation can leave you with no way to raise it, getting those flies stuck on you is a pain since getting them off only sometimes works, and it feels like getting all the badges is a massive undertaking because you have to run for so long. Who really wants to run for thirty minutes for a pointless badge?
I stand by what I said: the game has become dated. At the time this game stood out, but adding that with its flaws makes it drop under the title of 'good' even now.
My only complaint is that the story feels incomplete. I suppose because it's connected to another game, but it feels like an advertisement. The main character, the robot itself, has no substantial meaning. Its dialogue really doesn't do anything, since the story is made to be the collage of memories about two other characters. It leaves the game feeling a little... Unsatisfying.
Eh. Fun concept, but some of the controls just flat out don't work. I'd say three of the games are completely unplayable, multiple others are so wonky in the control department that it's luck based, and I encountered multiple glitches.
Fun and easy game... Though the speed is extremely off putting. I knew I could've completed the game, but I had to stop just because of how bored I became. Oddly enough, the game seemed to get slower and slower as I got farther through the dungeons. Certainly a time waster, but in an unneeded way.
Where this game has positives is overshadowed by a confusing difficulty spike. Zombies will massively increase and soon overtake all of the surrounding lots, but what's worse is that you can't train enough soldiers fast enough, and that's if you mange to secure a school in time. People constantly die at a rate of one or two a day, and when not from hoards it is from spontaneous events... And I'm playing on normal mode. -.-
It continues to say 'unable to connect' even though my internet connection is fine... So not only can I not achieve the badge, but I cannot even play the game. -.-
The last boss is poorly optimized. The game runs smoothly and yet gets so choppy at the seemingly unending boss fight, especially when the energy balls are on the screen, that it is incredibly frustrating. I can't even lower the quality and have to instead just remove a few unnoticed effects that don't help regardless. A fun game with a slog at the end.
The lagging has lessened from the third game, but unlike the second it still manages to lag. Constantly skittering along; not even registering button hits until the point that it's almost impossible to hit one because the visuals are seconds behind the music.
On low and still extremely laggy, yet I'm playing on a good computer with nothing else running. Not sure why this is happening, but it's basically unplayable.
