Best strategy: hold down until at the bottom, then hold up. Spam A the whole time. If you need to, move left or right to adjust. Also, screaming like a barbarian during the whole thing makes you play better.
That was actually a really awesome game. I usually don't like these kinds, but kudos for making a legitimately fun game while being so simple and fast-paced. 5 stars.

If you have the City Chief and Reporter, and are a little short on cash, just equip both of them and go into any level, then immediately end the day. You will gain $350 for doing that. Repeat until rich.
Tip: Get the three upgrades on the right side of the training upgrades (faster reinforcements and cheaper dudes), then spam your cheapest unit down the center row. Add in a bazooka or something every once in a while if you need it to defeat a tank or other specific troop.
