are there no female characters that you can use?

No sorry, I know its a very cool feature and we would love to have it. But we were very limited in our 3d models. Female versions would need not only new models but also new mannequin versions of all mutations, bionic and armor. And of course new regular, mutated and cyborg portraits. So we had to cut the ladies out.. but we will bring them in future games, promised ;)
