Adorable, quite good for a first try, my only complaint is that everything takes forever. All the animations could have their duration halved and the game would be much more playable. Especially the painfully slow crawl the critter does when he's walking through a zone.
I had a bunch of issues with this game until I made up a deck that was about a third gold mines (you don't need to have a deck that meets the card limit), two or three crystal mines, two kamikaze/a parting gift, any weightless (free resources) cards and the rest peasants.
I'm a biologist, and I gotta say, this is really cool. Excellent game, great idea, good execution, but it seemed a little slow to begin, and pretty buggy. I also wanted to see T4 bacteriophages because they look so cool, but you can't have everything (and it's a eukaryote anyway).
The psuedo-bilogy is fabulous -- but the sequencing needs units. Adding in kb or cM would be great. The fact that the genes follow a naming convention (which I don't know if it's appropriate for viruses or not) is also great. The game is good -- but it starts out hard and then gets really easy. The upgrade system, while my favorite part, is a bit too easy to abuse. The AI also doesn't seem to grasp the powers of the various cells, either.
