you get 32k xp only in last level after wave 157? It shouldn't be so few xp. I have already got 290 million scores in wave fourty-something.
i open my first gemcraft-chapter-0 game in kongregate, i am only lvl 26 when i reach the second arcade guardian.... lvl not high enough..... ( first arcane killed in lvl 16 )

just combine a lot of grade one gem to a grade four gem ( make sure it is dual gem )
it will boost its damage, firing speed, and range. Use gem bomb to change the colour of grade one gem.
use grade 6 gem and make it into a red-orange dual gem and put it into trap give millions of mana
