I was actually enjoying this game a fair bit, I don't generally mind that token stuff since it's just a way to speed up some things. But now I can only play one game day every half hour? 1/5, pathetic.
It'd be nice if, say, Machine Gun 2 and Heavy Machine Gun kills counted toward to achievement to let you buy those weapons. Instead if you want it unlocked you have to run around with the very basic weapon killing zombies.
A tip for the hard mode badge: if you're fully upgraded (fuel efficiency, fuel tank, etc) and are having issues, downgrade your engine (I used the 4th one). You should still be able to make it to 250,000 feet if you pick up a fair number of fuel powerups, and it'll be easier to avoid obstacles since you're not travelling as fast.
One issue I've noticed; when you level up, the max you can make any attribute is 30, and it takes into account items/beast bonuses. So, I won't be able to put any points into, say, Empathy if an item puts me up to 30. But if I remove that item, I can put points into Empathy, and then equip the item again to be over 30.
I don't know if it's something odd with my keyboard, or an error with the game, but using WASD was very finicky when invisible. It would be impossible to be invisible while running up a wall or across a ceiling, things like that. Was a fun game once I started using the arrow keys, though.
This game (or at least the voice speaking to you) has a very odd definition of "love," seeing as it was constantly insulting me when I didn't obey its orders, and patronizing me if I did. If I had to try to find some deeper meaning with it I'd say it represents being trapped in an abusive relationship, right down to the "beg you to stay" and "I loved you" at the very end if you choose to leave it.
Given the "tactical" requirement of the game, it would be a great help if you could control your units with any degree of precision. There's no way to select multiple groups, you have to deal with them constantly drifting toward enemies to attack, they auto-attack anything near them which makes it difficult to flank or avoid obstacles, and on and on. It makes the game frustrating instead of challenging.
For those having trouble beating bosses: just like with buildings, getting them to zero isn't enough. You have to destroy them by sending your soldiers against them directly.
I really like the concept, but this isn't very well balanced. When I tried upgrading or saving up for better guns it was impossible to beat level 3. When I just bought 3 of the weakest gun for each elevator, it was laughably easy.
Good fun, requires a lot of thought, and a bit of luck too. And to the person asking below:
Challenge 5, your first explosion is just used to get all the balls moving toward the corners. Make a ball while they're moving and use your second explosion to get em when they converge in the center.
Challenge 8 is a lot like an earlier challenge. You wait a few seconds, hit the freeze when all the balls are along the same edge, get the circle as large as possible and then detonate. Time isn't a big issue here so you can wait until the balls are lined up right.
It's not exactly a smooth learning curve. It starts out mildly difficult, once you upgrade your arrows all the way it gets easy, and easier still when you get dragons and/or angels. Then suddenly you reach "The End" and you have to have everything fully upgraded and spam all your abilities to stand any sort of chance.
Still fun though.
Level 29 is very poorly planned. Most of the enemies immune to special shots, so you're screwed if you didn't pick up the right secondary abilities. And when they die, they create black holes that fling everything everywhere, which means it's pure luck whether or not you'll be blown up by random explosions, no matter where or how you destroy the big ones.
