thank the internet gods for google and walkthroughs ... just like the first chapter i got stuck about 2/3rds of the way through and after 3 days of clicking everything i could find finally gave up and got the hints ...
the murderer is an xenophobic evil clown, but the victim was a crafty space alien who was trying to take over the world. i say let the evil clown go free, he did the world a favor. -- this game is a blast! one of my big faves on Kongregate. rock on! =)

the avatar, with so much incredible and excellent detail, really set me up believing this would be a highly customizable game. it isn't. after you make your character you're pretty much "locked in" to how its going to be for the rest of the game -- unless you spend money to make yourself look different as i said -- but why bother?? the battles will still take just as long. maybe this game is ONLY worthwhile playing as a large party? if that's the case i wish they'd said it up front so i wouldn't have bothered wasting a day playing here. i'm really REALLY disappointed in this game, there's so much potential here. but it is easily the worst combat and leveling up system i've ever seen. most games have really crappy quests and this one is excellent on that. the art is also really solid. but its just not worth the grind.

also, there are almost no weapons available that you can buy with silver coins. i was around level 10 when i changed weapons for the first (and only) time. you don't get to choose your skills either, and it takes forever (several levels) to get a new skill -- and then the skills tend to be weak. you can buy healing potions if you want, but you almost never need them. you either can whip your opponent in around 3 clicks (on average), though because of all the timers those three clicks are VERY slow in coming -- OR, your opponent can wipe you out in a hit. and most of the battles take FOREVER. you're really out of luck if you get hit with a "slow" effect because then the incredibly tedious battles take twice as long. i've spent close to 200 bucks this year on online games i enjoyed, but i can't imagine spending a dime on a game that is so monotonous, and gives so little player freedom of choice.

after playing for several hours, i have to update my last comment. after experiencing the quest system here i was prepared for this to be my "new favorite game". i was even prepared to pay some money for upgrades. however, since the combat system was so creaky i thought i better wait and see if it improves. it doesn't. if anything, it becomes more tedious the longer you play. i played between 6-8 hours today, and got up to level 16 just solo-playing. as far as i can tell there is no armor in this game, nothing to upgrade. you can change clothes to change your look, if you want to spend the money.
i love the art, i love the quests, but damn a person could fall asleep trying to work through these battles on their own, and i just have no interest in collecting together a party to do these things ... a wonderful setting but weakly designed battle system for the solo player.
i've given this a 4/5 rating, which is the highest rating i've given any of the games on kongregate. a lot of fun here. i only wish it were longer, but i'm glad i can reset it and start over. woot!
after getting killed 3 or 4 times in a row by the male V-thing ... i was done with this game. used every heal i had, every double-strike, just couldn't get past it. phooey.
i really dig the game, but it was a real downer to have 28,400 mana pearls in the same game, jump through the floor to the next level, and get NO badge. =(
if you start losing early seems like you're done for. i lost the 2nd battle and after that everything that came at me was overpowered. i couldn't raise money, couldn't win battle points, couldn't level up. it was pretty miserable.
insane. i cannot tell what is even going on more than 80 percent of the time. everything is so fast, its just hold the mouse down and hope you hit something. really tired of this style of high-blood-pressure, low-enjoyment game. if i could give it a zero-rating i would.
first -- i'm liking the game. second, i've been to town, bought new gear from the bartender and the smith, killed the wolves and got the pelts (quest completed), killed the Voidlord (quest completed), found Pippen ... and STILL my two brainless warriors don't believe they've been in town yet and want to find a way off the beach? *smh* why is the beach quest not completed, lol ...?
