I loved the way I was made to start the game with a murder of a seemingly helpless old lady by a ghastly creature fleeing the crime scene, and how the story unfolded to prove otherwise. Hats off to the author's creativity. To add to it, the artwork was dark and befitting. Same goes for the music. Thanks for the great game.
Magnificent artwork, true to the theme. 5/5 for the sheer art and conceptualization. Puzzles were relatively easy, which is a big plus for lazy gamers as I am. Though I believe with the level of art involved, people wouldn't mind looking around with harder puzzles :) Can't wait to see more.
The jumping is a huge pain.. the hero keeps slipping and falling off ledges into the grey liquid, hope dwindles, and then he gets down on his knees and prays to bring back hope.. the idea was new, but it gets tedious for me, falling off ledges and then holding v to see yellow one liners, so that I can see some colors around (mostly purple). Please stop the hero from floating around ledges, I really want to see how this game ends.. (sigh)
Outstanding combination of visual imagination and outstanding music. never thought I'd stay up playing a "Spot the differences" game, but the moment I saw the start screen, I knew a surreal experience was coming along. Wonderful.
The storyline was gripping and the ink and paint render was out of this world for a flash game. I just kept watching the start and end sequences over and over.. fantastic animation there.
I am a shift enthusiast to the core. I jumped with joy when I saw shift 4. The game must be pretty good. The artwork has disappointed me, though. The whole story perspective brought into the game was ridiculous. And there was absolutely no need to go for the sketchy style art.. shiftlooked much better the earlier way.
The shift series is undoubtedly the best flash games I have played. The black and white artwork coupled with the unique shift of worlds is something so wonderful.. kind of like a multiple personality disorder! Portal was also good, but this game simply beats portal due to its alternative, not-so-flashy artwork.. my salute to the creator.
