I thought the game was too easy. Feels like I could handle everything doing at least 50% more damage than all 3 star is. Would love a 4 star version of stuff.
What this is more than anything else is a music discovery tool. With a find more like this button that is way better than any of the sites it pulls music from and a genre selection that doesn't screw around with ones that barely fit. Common complaints about volume are not really the fault of the application as some music can only be found on youtube and there is great inconsistency there. I run my computer's sound system through an equalizer so it isn't as big a deal for me but I'm a rare case. Very rarely are there mistakes, and that often comes from youtube videos being mislabeled or including other crap.
This game has taught me a lot about the Kongregate community. One quick example, to the average Kongregate member Hard = Shitty, Stupid, Retarded, and Broken. This game is very very hard, but every level is beatable, and can be restarted. Nothing is random so scans can be used and notes taken on each wave (screenshot button and pause are fantastic), there is a placement and combination of towers on each level that will result in victory. Clearly this isn't for everyone, but if you want a hard TD game where each level has to be obsessively planned this is it.
Has my fiancée play this and she had some stuff that would make it better:
More customization options (re-pick is frustrating, not being able to decide how you look is frustrating, she wanted to be able to pick exactly the guy and she wanted it to stay the same between playthroughs).
Not really helpful but she didn't like any of the outfits, no suggestions here.
Only 1 game mode. Unlimited mode of some sort would be nice. I saw a pink skull suggestion that I thought was pretty good.
The are displaying the stats is too large and the portion displaying talent information is too small, perhaps take from one to make more room for the other, I have to really mess with the website resolution to see all the talent info.
Could have been a good game. No way to lower quality to reduce lag and the incredible sameness of the whole experience (progression was a bit slow) made it kinda boring.
Wish I could update or revise my previous comment, in any case the addition of the hints section helped a lot. I still wish I knew if any of the characters gain specials or more specials at any point, otherwise I don't know why you'd play Ninjas other than the extra starting hit chance.
I played a team of 4 dark knights to level 21 or so. I was a bit vexed that there is no way to reach the castle in the bottom right. I also didn't understand why the Dark Knights kept gaining energy but never aquired any specials to use it on. Anyway, ran out of interest in continuing past that point.
Not a good game for casual players, the lack of pause (or one I could find anyway) makes this game unplayable for me most of the day, maybe later I'll be able to.
This is a deep game with a lot of great features for playing at work or casually where you might need to stop a lot. The only problem I had is the time sink if you come across a mission where the build you've been using and improving the whole game is useless so you need to spend a lot of time building up someone else in secondary missions. I found frost/fire to be a good build but people who want to just be poison or something might run into some trouble.
Every time I play a TD without hotkeys I die a little inside. q through i should be the buildings from left to right, a & s should upgrade and sell, the positions of upgrade and sell should be swapped, and there should be a next wave button or key.
