As mentioned, if there was a balanced way of earning money, a speed up button, next wave button and maybe some music that could be muted separate to sound and not too repetitive this could be a great game. The fact I can jump straight to the last level if I want and that there is no more story after the initial explanation makes it boring and I don't want to play to be honest. I like a challenge and a story preferably at the same time. Have a go at something like Gemcraft for a bit and then rethink the money system on this. It has potential so don't just abandon it as it is!
I love the Metal Gear style, the several other game references from the guards and the guys who installed those laser systems - I know, lets install them with a timer so people can get past to the main console!
Thins this game has reminded me;
Timing is everything.
Failure is an option sometimes.
If at first you don't succeed try and try again.
Sometimes overcompensating will land you in the salt.
It's OK to look at the comments an say "4 chapters? Maybe I'll come back for those badges another time."
Thank fudge you don't have to press restart or wait a length of time when you re spawn.
If the controls were not so outrageously balanced this would be a 5 for me. As it stands it gets a 4...
I'll be back.
I don't know if there is a way to get a computer to seed even larger puzzles so that they are possible but take like 20 or 30 changes and quite intricate. I'm thinking Creeper World 3 tormented space style maps.
Maybe big enough puzzles that you can have more then one way to solve it, the faster rewarding points or something.
Liked it as a quick game, has a lot of potential to be a head scratchier and more in depth.
If you do develop something like that and end up selling it, please can you give a discount for people who have the badge, I hoped that CW3 and Rebuild 3 would have discounts for veteran Kong'ers! ;)
Stumped for a minute on level two, scratching head going wtf.
Then it clicked, I clicked and all became easy after that.
This has the potential to be really interesting, if you can find a way to make maps that are really big with obstacles and things like switches and actuators to solve a puzzle in a puzzle. Example; a switch is activated by a color, when + turns to the corresponding color it activates. This could be used to create multi-stage levels where you could have to accomplish two objectives, one on each side, to open the door and ultimately combine the colors.
Could have a story like taking over a spaceship or something so the levels are not arbitrary, am I going too far here?
The first game was a bit... dull, but this had at least some basic levels. Wile the gameplay is not all that, the story brought tears to my eyes and a smile to my heart.
I don't often give a game 5 stars, but when I do it has to have THE most amazing gameplay and the most amazing storyline, with not to bad music and graphics...
or be funny as hell and so on point it hurts!
I was getting bored of Kong - I have over a thousand badges. I've always been a fan of the Creeper World series, it's a fresh and novel idea in gaming, challenges tower defence and stratergy conventions. I decided after a long think to buy CE3 Ark Eternal on Steam. I haven't put it down since! What an AMAZING game. Good music that never seems to get repetative even though it is, a gripping story line, and HOURS of challenge. This is the first game I have paid for in YEARS, and I am actually glad I did. I tried to find a free version, but no joy. It's money I don't have, but at just over a tenner it's actually good value for money. It's so good that after coming on for the BOTD I though I would rave over just how good it is! I think Kong members should get a heavy discount, especially if they have played and got all the badges.
We have inproved our prodution line! You no longer have to apply a layer of white paint, you can scrape off the old paint instead! We don't always do this, so sometimes you get the white paint and sometimes the scraper... depends on how poor the customer is!
OIn case anyone would like to know whow to get the impossible badge; https://www.kongregate.com/forums/3-general-gaming/topics/34897-pandemic-2-better-100-day-strategy?page=1
Soooo... On my 13th attempt this year, and seven years after earning the first three badges I started in New Zealand for the sixth time. Canada was the last place on Earth that Disease Name (I called it "D", "Di" or "Dis" for a while, but that was taking valuable time) had not arrived at. They could see that the virus, which had no visible signs of infection, was taking hold all over the world. Shortly after closing the docks they also closed the airport. The gods whom saught to smite the human race were watching Canada closely. The look of pain on their faces as the airport closed, and then sheer delight as a plane that was already bound for it landed and the news ticker anounced "disease spotted in Canada."
++
After that the Human race never stood a chance as the symptoms all kicked in. By the 88th day there were no humans on the planet. The gods favourite news report was "Madagascar wiped out by a new hazardous disease," after they had survived seven previous virus outbreaks.
If I knew 5 years ago how easy it would be to conquer the world I would have had this badge then. It kinda makes the game a bit boring once you get to Japan/Russia...
I was half expecting some kind of final battle that would require the fully upgraded ultimate zombie... I was truly dissapointed. For that reason it's only 4/5. No stratergy involved in the end game.
Well, that was a plesant suprise! A grindfest type game that has paid for features that speed up but don't spoil the pleasure of a game. I was only in it for the badge, and that took long enough, but I can see a good game here. Not to mention the idea of a shop leveling up to assist heroes better in their quests is a kick ass concept that turns the world of gaming on it's head a little.
