Game is good, love the atmosphere, it's maybe a little too heavy on the jump scares, but they were all earned. I want more chapters, because the story has potential of turning into awesome.
However, the website thing is less fun. There is some delay during registration and after waiting all I've got was donation page. In other words - I had to work in order to be privilege to pay for a game I was promised for free.
That said, I would gladly give you money if I had any.
I love the concept, but the game is too small. It needs few content patches, parser update and some sort of gameplay (so far it's more about figuring out what phrases you can use, rather than actually figuring out the mystery).
Puzzles are mostly trail and error. Graphics are nice, may sometimes be confusing. Story is a bit predictable. I really liked the idea, kind of like Memento.
Art is good, but I don't really enjoy pixel hunting - there was no indication where to find stuff for elixir, or pumpkin. Besides I would rather figure things to do myself, then being told by someone what should I find and how to combine it.
Controls and hitboxes (I fell through a ledge a couple of times on 2nd lvl) can be a bit temperamental. Other then that, it reminded me a bit of karoshi series, but shorter.
Gameplay is not something that game was made for, yet it would be nice if it was improved. Level design seems kind of chaotic. Environments are repetitive with exception of cave and basement I'm not sure whether I find an item on a ledge, or different ledge.
As for artistic side: music could be slow and gloomy constantly and escalate with each item a bit, now the change is too sudden.
5/5, but towards the end it was more of a shoot enemies more because they are harder, rather then finding new and fun ways to kill them. Also level design seems to be a bit repetitive and "secret" boxes are not secret if they are in plain sight with a glowing green arrow at the top and you can reach them by jumping at the ledge.
The game is very small. I would at least like to see at some new weapons later in the game. On the other hand it is hilarious and I would like to see more.
Sometimes it is hard to distinguish foreground elements you can crash into from background. On some backgrounds enemies projectile are hardly visible. Difficulty curve is weird, i.e. I had no problem completing missions all through the last "pack". There I had to grind a bit. The very last level was trivial in comparison.
As for writing, I think it's alright, though cutting it would be nice. After starting the game I was greeted by 5minutes of exposition, 30sec of gameplay, and another 6 minutes of exposition. Another thing is a situation when everybody is tense and prepared to fight for their lives, but when you talk to them they will speak light hearted about their drinking problems, how their cooking is crap and who does Douce fancy the most. Also often happened that I could visit someone at the bar, yet there was no one there, and a situation when I had to choose who shall I talk to.
I've bet the game with maxing reactions and speed. There is no need for agility, nor stamina, as there are hardly any long races, or ones with many obstacles. Also mini games need more polish. Stamina training gives too little gain for the same amount of time/skill. In reactions training I often fell a victim of a ninja watermelon, hidden among its fallen brethren.
Almost every time there was a gate I had to go back several screens for one monster, so I wouldn't mind them respawning, or at least some kind of teleport system between active checkpoints.
A plot would be nice too. I was almost expecting a princess behind the final gate, or intelligent being, that would make me guilty for killing population of that planet.
My personal favourite was acid gun - it's a weapon that brings back lots of childhood memories ;)
I found half of the weapons fairly useless, so if sequel is made, adding knock back to pistol, shotgun, nailguns and potato gun(although now I see it more like a railgun that can't penetrate) would be a nice thing.
