The badges are misnamed. It's not chapters it's looking at - it's player level in PvP and/or in general. What I like least about the whole mess is how completely unsurprised I am about it.
Enjoyable game, but the amount of time it takes to get the easy badge is what it used to take to get a hard badge, and in the time it would take to get the medium badges, you could sow and reap your own ridiculously-and-unnecessarily-homicidal fruits and vegetables. In other words, it'd take a couple of weeks at the earliest to get *medium* badges, assuming that you don't literally devote hours to this every day [which, considering how many idle games Kong has been pushing, I'm willing to bet they assume]. This may be a demo officially, but the demo itself is much, much longer than most full-length games. Whoever assigns these badges apparently never plays them - and as a result, as good as this game is [and it is], it is a **lousy** contender for a BotD.
I have to apologize. The badges - yes, there are many. Way, way, WAY too many. But the game is a good one, it's not a FTP game, and - and I can't believe I'm saying it about a post-2020 Kong game - it's actually fun. Yes, the tanks need to be unlocked, but there's no hard ceiling that needs $$$ or ridiculous amounts of time to get through, and many of the best tanks can be unlocked within a couple of hours of gameplay. The leveling system doesn't do much other than eye-candy, so a Level 8 player can easily beat a Level 180 one. A bit of lag, a screen that doesn't fit 100% - yes, they're issues, but nothing [and not at a level] all that damning. Best of all, the dev actually and actively reads and responds to these. Well done, guys.
I want to point out that my previous comment is directed against Kongregate, *not* the developer of this specific game. Though I do remain suspicious of how rapidly it got badges, never mind the number of them, with only a couple of thousand gameplays - far below previous criteria for badging. [So you're all good, dev, since I've got no direct proof that you're acting in bad faith and you are responding to comments - but why is your profile private? I thought developers usually *want* to be noticed?]
We are a two man team of game devs just trying to make a fun game. To be honest we didn't ask for the badges, I didn't even know that they were such a big deal for players here! Also I made this profile public again, I didn't realize I still had it as private.
Wait a minute. I see what's happening here. You guys are flooding the badge system with literally hundreds of badges on a small handful of P2W games so that anybody who wants to get a shiny or even normal Kongpanion *must* play them, on the grounds that these THREE games now comprise about 30% of all non-Flash badges here, and you are trying to skim the whales off the top. This is low, Kongregate. This is *very* low. Greg and Co must be getting cold sweats seeing what their baby has been reduced to.
I can't speak for other games, but we work really hard to ensure STUG isn't pay to win. In fact the first free tanks you get are some of the strongest/easiest to use. The only things you can actually purchase are cosmetics. While some of the later tanks seem strong, they all have drawbacks to using them.
According to Sir_Valimont (dev) - "The PvP arena [is] accessible from the main menu. I recommend that you spend your first Gems on 1 Dragons pack and 1 Frontiers pack, to make you much stronger. You will get 2 free epic cards that way (we frontload rewards). You don't need to hoard, not only because you only want the badges, but because there are a lot of free Gems daily. We the dev team have taken efforts to make the badges easy for you, just in case you don't like card games. I hope you will ask questions so we can help you get them quickly. :)"
For players only going for the Medium badge who aren't very good at Snake, once you unlock the Puff Adder - with a relatively low dev score of 20 but without the difficulty to match - the 'pills' skitter around a bit but that's it. Don't worry of one skittering into you and killing you, they won't, just weave back and forth once your snake is long enough and use the admittedly nice quirk that you can go through walls [i.e. go up or down, weaving left and right as tight a turn as you can make it]. Don't go back for one you missed, just keep weaving. It may take some time, but you will get it. [I recommend this instead of trying to beat 46 on Classic - if your snake is longer, your margin of error, say due to a missed keystroke, is smaller.]
With a rating of 3.9 with 25,000 inputs, a very-PO'd fanbase in the comments section, and a game that is rotten on many levels - without even considering that its prequels were some of the best games in the genre - and a rating of 3.9, with 25,000 inputs? Something is VERY wrong here. Not the first bad game with many good ratings, someone's spamming bots around here. + if you agree.
ALLOW FLASH PLAYER TO GET THIS BOTD AND ANY. CHROME NOW AUTO-BLOCKS FLASH PLAYER, ENABLE IT IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER [a puzzle piece].
+1 SO EVERYONE CAN SEE.
Would someone please explain why the BoTD for (both yesterday and) today does not work? It is not updating as I rack up kills and has the red disconnect icon. It also does not register when I pass 100 and save. +1 if you are having the same problem.
Having played many games on this site to get the BotD, I can say with total confidence - this game is on the Bottom 5 list. An insane difficulty curve, no real tips, and most importantly, a nearly-impossible-to-get BotD - never mind the hard badge. What makes this even worse is that being at the beginning of the week, you have no time to gear up for it - it might make a decent (if that) weekend badge, but it makes me hate Mondays.
For that many weapons in my shop and invasions by random...things, and especially when the townspeople pay more for my chickens then they do for weapons, you'd think that I stumbled upon the Colonel's secret recipe - and he wants it back by any means necessary.
Am i the only one who gets caught up in killing every last bit of creeper, to the point of covering the map in collectors and double lines of blasters and mortars? No, just me the psychopath? Okay then *gets back to killing creeper*
PROTIPS:
-You can take advantage of bullet time to dodge enemy bullets, just let them come towards you and move out of the way.
-You can lead your shots to where you think they will be!
-On Level 3, charge the top/bottom assault rifleman from behind a pillar. Take his gun and hide behind that pillar, shooting anyone who comes nearby [the shotgun at the end is a death trap].
-When the screen flashes with a blue border [and also makes a noise], you have reloaded.
PLUSES SO EVERYONE CAN SEE :)
I did not know that you could get the easy badge at any level...I thoguht you needed to beat the game....*gets killed by a six-pointed star* *screams taht it has taken me 20 minutes to get to this point* *gets easy badge.*
Either the easiest hard badge known to man, or the stupidest easy badge known to man.
