never mind my last comment, i was wrong
need to be able to abandon map without recycling, at anger map and can't get better gear :(
You can abandon the unique maps without recycling. The button that normally says "Recycle Map" should say "Abandon Map" instead. You will lose your current progress on the map but you won't lose the map.
