The debt aspect is what provided the real challenge and set it apart from a simple shop managment sim. You had to fully think through how much to spend on debt verses the general perks, and if a perk would help or hinder the debt payment in the long run. This was the strategy of the game, not to mention I was looking forward to the payoff (pun intended) when the debt was paid.
