Well, a good attempt. The only tip I would give, if asked, is to consider the PLAYER the top priority. Nothing feels intuitive about the controls, and actions are carried out awkwardly, I feel like the game is NOT well explained, and playing it is difficult.
I like the concept. I'd love to know more of what happens. But I'm simply unable to. The programmer has not seen fit to make anything accessible to the player without accumulating vast amounts of frustration. If, I, the player am not valued enough to be at least given a feeling of "Oh, the programmer cares that I am able to actually play his game." Then why should I?
I was just popping in after checking out your new game "tankerman", and it appears I have judged you correctly sir. You're coding is quite surprisingly genius. If you are ever interested in ideas or feedback, feel free to message me directly. :) Best of luck to all you do
I would like to say that this game has many good points, the track effects are nice, the sound is enjoyable (music loop does hurt after a while) the interface is clean and simple, the words readable, good object layering, etc. However, after blowing up 2-300 M1A1 Tanks I feel like they should just have a generic label that says "Tank that doesn't shoot at you" in place of them and it would be just as interesting. The upgrade system makes me feel somewhat put down as a user. You have 2 upgrades and neither of them is explained well at all. I feel like I have to put blind faith into the idea that this one upgrade is "worth it" to buy. On a couple upgrades, I really questioned IF it was worth it after buying it. Perhaps a multi-path upgrade system similar to Bubble Tanks would be more interesting and add replay value for us players. All in all 4/5 for a great game engine, now you just need a shiny coat of paint and some gadgets. Well done sir.
Stunningly original! I really enjoyed this game. . . After a while I started losing interest quick though, some of the combinations were very creative, but unintuitive and very frustrating to us players. How was I to suspect I needed to make a Demigod? Still I give it 4/5 for being very well-done!
Well, it's not bad, but considering that this is a flight game, you've neglected proper airfoil-based flight kinetics. A wing tilted down and forward gains velocity for a loss of height, and an airfoil tilted up and back gains height while sacrificing velocity. Speaking of velocity, is that a run-away Radical equation you used for the gravity? Not a bad game, but 3/5 since even "Learn To Fly" tops the physics modelling.
Players want to be interested in your game. We want to be excited about what's coming next in your game, we want to be challenged and we want to feel immersed into the world of the game. I have not managed to feel engaged or excited whatsoever during my time playing this game.
Failure! your tutorial blocked the items I needed from being pressed, when close the diner window, I can't bring it back. Come on, you can program better than this. Remember us users are some very clever idiots. If we CAN do it, we WILL do it. Program for contigincies.
What personally engages the player about your game? The name? Come on! Frozen Assets! lol. Anyway, subpar. no sound, no point in upgrades, no effects. . . just no motivation to go on.
@Attila I like your beginning, but it could use a story (however brief), and something to make it difficult other than how quickly I can press the spacebar. Perhaps both the station and you should BOTH have HP and the station defends you from the enemy types that attack you, and you protect the station from a different enemy type, yes? SOMETHING to spice it up.
You should improve your UI and appeal, look at games like Bunni: How We Met and such good UI ideas. The sound effects aggravating! Simplicity is golden with flash games. Cheap and effortless just gives you no points for style. Perhaps an active effect to make the background more interesting" and appealing to the eyes?
Impossibly difficult, and truly not entertaining. . . I don't know what else to say. I think the gameplay should go "back to the drawing board". This is similar to the "multitasking" games like Airport and such, but it lacks the simple charm. 2/5 because there is worse.
