@Catrys - Flower Fairy is a rare spawn at Waterfall. Kinda weak, but it works. Check that you have Tackle set as Snake's skill. The default attack he uses is a little too fast, leading to a lot of wasted time as the Orc kills units that are charging attacks, causing hundreds of lost damage in that fight. Check your Familiar, that much difference doesn't sound wrong for forgetting to set it up. As for making a mistake in order not changing things, it changes EVERYTHING. Set it up with your heaviest attackers at the top, and you'll get a strong alpha strike with no follow-through, as your DPS drops with every death. Set it up with your strongest attackers at the bottom, and your DPS goes up after each Orc attack, while still doing a fair bit of damage between each. You're on pace if it's Orc at sub-300 health vs solo wolf after you die. I don't know what else might help, if you're still having trouble, maybe set your Habit towards regenerating stamina so you can go ham with Stab?

@Catrys - It isn't all about the ritual level. Your best bet is a max level Goblin, Snake, Wolf, and a Flower Fairy that's as high as you can be bothered to grind it. Next, pay attention to how it targets your side... top down. Order your party from weakest attacker (Goblin or Flower Fairy, depending on your Fairy level. Personally I was at ~50, making it stronger than the Goblin) to your Strongest (Wolf should be below you, as it has a stronger attack than you before you beat the orc). Next, pay attention to the timing of your party's attacks. Snake should use Tackle because when it doesn't, you lose precious time to a party member charging an attack only to get killed midway through it. Fairy should also use Tackle, because she can waste her turn otherwise. Finally, remember to turn your Familiar to the Devil with no other options marked. Lost attacks and powerful party members getting killed first are what make the difference against the Orc.

@drinthap - mostly right, though in my experience you want to make a few changes... Goblin does slightly more damage than Bird, so run that in the top spot. Wolf should be your strongest attacker, and so should be in the bottom spot. Snake should run Tackle... it's slightly slower, but with that your attacks will line up so that the Orc never kills something partway through charging an attack. Flower Fairy should also run Tackle, so she doesn't stop to Pick Flowers, and should be fairly high in the party because unless she's like, max level, she won't have more Attack than even Snake.

The hit boxes can be frustratingly bad in places, especially in the boss fight. Even after I understood what needed to happen, it took many, many attempts to find a reliable method of hitting the target without appearing to hit the target, but dying instead. Stand on the middle platform as the circle, where the boss stops moving and switches direction. Jump before the boss gets there, land on the button when the boss has more or less stopped moving. Repeat for the second phase, hitting D at the apex of your jump to hit the button as the right shape. Repeat again for the third phase, hitting S at the apex of the jump. If the boss movement pattern doesn't extend past the top platforms, run into the boss to try for a more favorable pattern

gotta say, it may not be the one that gives the most points, but Geometry is easily the most fun to watch once it's upgraded a bit. The chain never stops, the math signs just keep popping the entire screen and setting each-other off.

@larpsken, @pin, been rocking fireball for a while now. It doesn't need to sync up with a Sweep to hit all enemies, it always hits all enemies for 4 hits worth of damage. Against your main target, that means that you hit it for 350% damage over 4 hits (50% + 50% + 50% + 200%), or about 87.5% what you would do without fireball. Not exactly ideal, but you DO hit all other enemies with a 200% hit every 4 swings. Haven't been able to spot if both sweep and fireball proc at 20 hits, but it's pretty worth it unless you're brick walled on single hard targets where it's more important to take them down quickly than to speed up most waves substantially.

@ryguy - it becomes rational once you realize that it breaks down to addition steps and multiplication/division steps. You can cut the corners to pick any addition you want when you're in the top left and bottom right, and any multiplication/division from the top right and bottom left. From there, you can work backwards - you need to end in the bottom-right, so you need to move from either the bottom-left or top-right the step before, meaning either multiplying by 3, 4, or 5, or dividing by 2. 111 is divisible by 3 (37), so the last step is *3. 33 is easy to work with, so +4 is the step before that. 33 is 11*3, so that's next before it. 11 is 2+9. 2 is 4/2. 4 is 0+4. Thus, +4, /2, +9, *3, +4, *3, goal.

@Mestif I have seen chests before. However, despite the fact there is over a 20% chance for any given tile to spawn a chest, none are spawning any more. All remain as empty tiles. They do not drop random experience bonuses. Instead, when I cross an empty tile, I am gaining 0.1 multiplier, as though I had gone through an obstacle and triggered one of the first 3 talents.

At 21% chest spawn, I'm not seeing chests spawn. I think some other perk is interfering with their spawning. Perhaps related, but with 100% chance in all 3 of the first tier perks, I gain multiplier when traversing empty tiles.

@GOD_C you don't need skill points to counter the speed reduction. The Space Soldier is one of the last unlocked enemies in the game, so the numbers involved here shouldn't be terribly different from a newer player: at the end of the game, having beaten everything except the Chrome Avatar, Wandering Monsters, and Hard Turtles, I have 120 speed and 685 stored speed. My prestige perks provide +200 of that speed, so even if I reset my perks right now, i would still have 485 stored speed, even after beating all of the Space Soldiers, Turtles, Ogres, and Cyclops. Newer players should definitely plan on doing the math, and of those the Turtles give the least bang per speed loss buck, but even ignoring prestige perks it is 100% easy to take advantage of really, REALLY strong bonuses like Stimpacks without suffering any speed loss due to the Stored Speed system.

@GOD_C, semi-wrong there. The speed build IS king, but because of Saved Speed you can store enough to kill all the space marines (for that sweet sweet Stim chance. Seriously, at full speed getting Stim to proc means an instant second attack.) and regular Turtles without impacting your capped 110 speed. Personally, my 2 cents is: when you're a few prestiges deep, 3 small damage boosts and 3 small health boosts is enough boosting to start your prestige killing Vampires. While initially slow, doing this means that after the 6th vampire kill you essentially never die again until you hit the high top tier enemies.

@Nanoth from what I can figure, it eventually hits a point where the most effective tutorial zone setup is a Meteor in the center, 4 Golems or Inns in the corners (Golems are stronger when the cards are all level 1. From level 2+, Inns take it.), and a Honey, Mace, Sheep, and Ice Sword surrounding the Meteor.

I can't remember the name of it, but there is an idle game where you control several species themed kingdoms (starting with humans, then humans and orcs, then those plus elves, then those plus undead...) where a major mechanic over time became shipping resources that were much easier to produce in one kingdom to another one, where they could be used to significant effect. Not saying you should this or that, just throwing the idea out there as a way to tie the various boards together a little so it doesn't feel like a waste of time to even look at previous boards once you unlock a new one.

I enjoyed this a fair bit. Had me stumped in a few places, but worked it out. Level 19 in particular though, woof. Even after I'd worked out what to do, I had to restart it more than once because i'd missed one minor detail and destroyed something I needed later too soon. (struggled like this with both exits)

hmmm... as it currently sits, prestiging by unlocking the next set feels a bit bad. Total wipe, renders any collecting you were doing moot, and renders any familiarity with the set pointless because the actual cards don't carry over either

I'm not understanding how the exercise room works.... in theory it should produce X work/minute... but for some reason, the number can be higher than listed, and eventually hits 0. Not just for the cat working out, but for any cat. Then, for some other reason, it starts working again eventually?

Not intentional, i know, and not much you can do about it, but the response you have in the best comments refers to making chains of boosts, when in the current version it seems they only effect the 2 nodes they are attached to. Slightly disappointed I missed the chance to use them in chains, though, was a neat concept.

Developer response from GeorgeCH1983

Thanks for your feedback! Chain boosts were removed all the way back in 0.6. I don't think they will come back, but I definitely agree that the boost system needs a bit of a rethink going forward.

The current implementation of boosts doesn't apply to connected nodes. Boosts neither propogate upwards nor downwards, and only apply to the selected node. Tested against cost reduction and resource boosting bonuses, as those are easier to put hard numbers to. Interesting concept, the execution needs a bit of polish still.
