Because I simply can't do this game justice without upgrading my skillset, I'm currently thrashing through the udemy course on unity. watch this space (and thanks for all the comments guys, I do read them but I've had a really horrible start to the year). Peace out, but not to much peace or how will we enjoy explosions.
and if you cant wait, theres a thoroughly excellent game on steam called boss constructor, with a better construction system, which may satisfy your home made spaceship cravings :).
Love the game, dislike my gunnery officer. Why must we jump into every system with our projectile and missile weapons unloaded :p. It makes sense for lasers to build up a charge (fire at full bar) but for proj and missiles shouldn't they fire on empty bar then the bar represent reloading?
I love everything about this td except the upgrade system, which feels weirdly unbalanced and I feel limits my choice too much (tower swapping mechanics). Especially like the particle push special effects.
'I want feedback on how people would like to improve the game. Not insults and people telling me that i've ripped something off.'
Okay sir, my previous post was both harsh and vague which is not useful. So here goes.
My main idea on how this can be improved is a> remove it. b> forget it ever happened. c> don't release bad clones to the public domain and not expect some backlash, you're lucky anyone bothered to comment at all.
And you're welcome. Happy dev'ing.
Your game which isn't a clone is named flappy, and features a non cloned flappy bird avoiding non cloned pipes and collecting clones with an interesting and unique (lol) cloned control scheme, your position is indefensible.
Wow dude, You are the best game developer ever. You judge other games that are just barely in Alpha, You're so cool. I wish I was like you. Grow up. Thanks to people like you this experimental game is no longer in development. And no, I will not be removing it. You sir need to have some respect for the fellow game development community that you are apparently part of and you need to think of the people that actually enjoy a different type of game than you do.
I appreciate your opinion towards this but this is no exact replica, Yes it uses the same type of gameplay i.e click the jump. This game isn't supposed to be a 'clone'. The game is in early alpha. It is no-where near complete. If I wanted to make an exact copy I could do it in an afternoon.
3rd button on inventory items, to lock them so i don't accidentally sell that +12 crossbow of everything murdering when im being an axe giant :) great game btw
there is an onoing problem with the fighting section, where through play it becomes less and less responsive and more and more jerky, it can be fixed completely by reloading the game, but would be a much better game without this flaw, I think it might be something to do with projectiles by the way as the problem seems to escalate faster using higher rate of fire weaponry (it might just be more noticeable). Great game though, needs an epic battle between researching the starship and the end credits ;)
Restart a couple of times till the computer builds a laser tower, its basically an early economic advantage because it's worthless. If you're being really tight, restart if the 1st shot from your base doesn't kill an energy tower.
My Absurd high score started like this^ when I had upgrade to about 4 and base tower at 3 the comp started building missiles, but only about 5 buildings total, switched to beams 1-3, then back to upgrade 5, blast radius,,troop health, troop attack, spawn rate, in a loop to level 3,troop attack and blast radius to 4, this should be wiping out whatever the comp is trying to build fairly quickly, over this period my base had been regularly shooting missiles as they were built basically constantly stamping down the enemy economy, at some point during all that other upgrading i took beam kill rate from 1-3 because the comp briefly had 2 missile towers, i may even have bought some base health, spawn rate, speed speed speed speed kaboom.
Great game lots of scope for improvement but a really solid start. Fantastic work juggling all those stats and upgrades and still having most of them feel useful and meaningful. My advice would be to use larger sprites for the action , there's room (on screen) for it I think and it would draw in more people than just the guys who are turned on by a screen full of numbers and upgrade buttons. (like me) 5/5
