Gerard Way was influenced to start the band as he was watching the Twin Towers fall on Sep. 11, 2001. The Band didn’t actually form till approximately 1 week later. The fall of The Word Trade Center was also the inspiration for the song “Skylines and Turnstiles”. The song “Helena” was inspired by the death of Gerard Way’s Grandmother. The band is on an extended break before they start their next record, which is thought to be released by 2009.
