Ok, when I think about Shmups I think about crazy bullet patterns and dodging bullets. This game has neither. It has a neat upgrade system but the game itself is so short you basically finish it before you get the best ship or best weapon.
Also, when getting the best ship you think "finally" only to realize that when you are facing like 3+ enemies on a row shooting against you, it is impossible to go between them. Instead you are forced to actually kill them before they have the chance to fire, or try to kill them one by one from the edges.
You can't dodge bullets either, since the last ship is so big. No finesse, no feeling of being "good". You just eat bullets, take damage, and finish the stage. The game would be better if there were more bullets on the screen but with smaller controllable ships.
I hate it how the portals are impossible to aim with when trying to solve Module 5. You are doing it in the exact right way, but because you are 1mm to the right/left, it can't travel through the portal and bounce back. Logically, it would be better to make the portals smaller but more accurate or something.
I tried the game at home instead of at work, and at home it works fine. It seems that at work I can't see the level numbers. The mid-column is just all blue and when clicking somewhere it goes into static mode and then stops there. Tried uninstalling Flash, tried both IE8 and Firefox without any difference.
I can't get used to the controls. Games like these rely heavily on the controls, like N or Jumper. This one though, makes me hate my computer everytime I start the game.
