Tip: Make a single barricade way ahead of your real defenses so as to divert the enemies that prioritize building demolition (engineers, I think). This way, when they finally catch up to the rest of their buddies, your cannons will have already reloaded. Also, this way, your troops don't have to fight so many enemies at once.
Everybody seems focused on rather trivial matters...As the developers mention, this game was released to test out some new features that will be later implemented in Bubble Tanks 3... Does it really matter that it misses some of the features from BT2? I mean, the ability to design and create your own tank is great. So what if some of the pieces are redundant? Without them, it'd be like buying a car with just an engine and seats...
Immunization circles (white, rotating dashed outlines)= temporary boost in defense.
Power pylons (white, "star" in middle)= explained in game; gives boost to offense of legions within; remains with them a while after they leave; base spawns legions faster.
"Boost" circles (white, dashed outlines, arrows moving from the center outwards)= useful, not only conveys boost in strength, but also rockets the legions in the direction DIRECTLY OPPOSITE from whence they came. Enemy legions that get in the way suffer much damage. Aim carefully. Bombing (red pentagon)= fairly obvious; any legions inside will be completely obliterated; bases may be able to sustain one hit. Killzone (red skulls)= all objects within suffer constant damage. Drift zone (white arrows)= moves objects in fixed direction. NOT impossible to fight current, even with bases; just aim for an area past them. This information MAY NOT be correct all of the time; all data comes from personal experience (check highscores).
Well, in response to earlier comments, I AM number one on the all time high scores list... I naturally assumed that the system Kongregate had in place, taking the total campaign score as determined by the creators of this game, was a fair one, but I suppose time is also a rather important aspect...
Oh man...Apparently I am better at this game than anyone else who has ever played it Kongregate... I dunno whether to be proud or freaking ashamed that I'd spend so much effort...
I have officially just taken second place on the all-time high scores list! First, if you don't count that 186k pointer, who I doubt uses legitimate playing methods...By which I mean, of course, that he probably uses unorthodox maneuvering tactics.
This really is a terrific game! The ability to openly maneuver your units was excellent, though I agree, there should be some way to select multiple legions at the same time. Perhaps a highlighting function? The flanking tactic also needs some work; it only seems to register in very exact situations. Multiplayer definitely a good idea, though map editor doesn't really seem necessary; the maps they provide seem very well balanced and diverse. A very good game otherwise though! Look forward to the possible sequel.
Wow...
Very fun and easy to learn, but also one of the most difficult games I've played this month.
I barely made it past the first gun for the first twenty minutes...
And I STILL haven't seen the bazooka.
