Fun game! I had to check the official walkthrough to figure out that the matches lit the four stone lanterns out in the yard with the tanuki. Other than that, my meager intellect was enough to work things out.
Ha -- I dig the assistant. Any chance we could get a ruby reset feature so that all those of us who have max rubies and have allocated them already can get it?
Got the same "out of memory" others are reporting when clicking "continue game". Reloaded game, clicked on "sound settings", then clicked "save to external source". Saved the text to a file. Reset game. Clicked load game, pasted in text, and got a start-from-the-beginning game, except that at first it correctly displayed the 123 work hours I had available. Seems like the save/load function has an issue.
Discovering that non-linear progression was the way to play this game was the most fun thing in this concept -- I haven't seen it elsewhere. Having to hunt around and figure out what I could actually take on that would give me a boost, then getting the advantage and going back to roast the dude that was owning me before was a huge kick. Sadly, that element disappears.
It would be awesome if the game had lots of similar puzzles, and different combinations that you had to figure out.
I would like the order tool *way* better if I could drag an item to a new position, then have the list adjust. With swapping, it's really frustrating. The order tool seems cool, but, on the other hand, what's the point of playing now? I have the optimal order, now I just... sit around and way through prestiges, accumulating tiny little advantages?
This game was incredibly fun, and then it bogged down completely. Great concept: getting past the first area felt like a puzzle. Would love to see it developed to maintain a similar pace.
Dope. I enjoyed the hell out of each level. The tricks with the axe were great; you could put a different skin on this and make it a Thor video game. Short and sweet. Beating level 15 made me feel awesome.
After dozens of play-throughs, I've finally beaten this game twice (ranger, then rogue), so I think it's safe to say I'm not exactly a natural talent. But I love this game's combination of difficulty and simplicity: there's nothing like hitting your stride mid-game with a character that's actually found the right weapon / spell strategy to ramp up and start asserting themselves on the asses of a bunch of the dungeon's denizens.
So far my only complaint is that, for most characters, it seems like going into the Arcane side-path is basically suicide. It's *so* much deadlier than the other options.
Other than that, I'd love to see it grow: it's got such a tremendously fun base that now I just want more characters and areas. Thanks so much for making this!
Thank you and your welcome! The branches are def going to need a lot of reworking. The Arcane tower as you mentioned is not only absurdly hard due to its terrain and ranged enemies, but it has attacks of every element. What will likely eventually happen is the core and ice caves will be moved up to the first branch along with a lightning themed one and the arcane tower will be set as the second branch along with a few more extremely difficult, multi resistance branches.
And that was the beginning of Anthony's life on the run. It's not easy as a child runaway. After years of drugs and prostitution, he finally made his way to a halfway house and found God. He turned his life around and went back to school. Things were mostly good again... except that every time he passed a bowling alley, he'd cry his eyes out.
Beautiful pictures. Nice atmosphere. And it plays well on the traditional fear of having to walk around an empty town collecting fragments of an old plate. CHILLING.
RE: 28.2k for first tree, my game also started with the x100 multiplier set, making the tutorial appear insane. You can click to x1 and get things back to normal. #bug
