I have a messed up theory, what if this game is set inside the boy's mind in Diamond Hollow 2 after he deals with emotional trauma after the horrors of the pit and the fact he lost his only friend during that time and this dream is a culmination of delusions of grandeur and insanity. Each spell a manifestation of his emotions and the fact that we see the same monsters in this game as well as the Diamond Hollow series, despite them two being different in story. That or the fact that this game was made by the same person who made the Diamond Hollow series. Yeah, I'm going with latter.
what i really like this game is the diversity and creativity of the pieces, its so fun trying out new pieces and creating new strategies regular chess just cant beat
