This game needs to have an option to use the arrow keys. I'm left-handed and on a laptop with a touchpad. Which means that my left hand is my mouse-hand. I cannot PHYSICALLY control the "mouse" with my left hand and still reach the WASD keys with my right.
I think I see two major problems with this game, that would greatly improve it: 1) you get a chance to get used to the first game, but not any of the others. Instead of immediately putting you into multi-game mode, each time a new game is introduced, we should get a chance to get used to it, before it joins with the others. 2) The third game is introduced in the bottom right of the screen. Yet it's controlled with WASD, which are on the LEFT side of the keyboard. Keep the games on the side of the keyboard that they're on, and they're much easier to keep track of.
@Thirsk - I was coming here to say the same thing. Tweeted the link to Mr. Weeks, he'll probably retweet it when he gets to his hotel after tonight's reading.
You know what? Screw this. Between having to constantly RE-MUTE the music, the lack of mute for the sound effects, and the exact precision timing the third screen requires, this just isn't worth my time.
@bionichydra @TheRockDuck @tetos1995 @hippogasmo I tested it out, and the glitch seems to be because you hit "go" after the previous event too fast. If you hit "go" while you're still on the battle screen layout, it pretty much skips the next event.
I think I have identified the cause of both glitches I have discovered. 1) Skipping travel events: If you hit "go" before the box moves back to it's normal position, it will stay on "go" even when you reach another event. 2) Skipping guild level: I only got this glitch on the Enforcer side, but as I never saw the "get 100 rep" quest, I'm assuming that this is where it should have been. If you have your max/min rep before receiving the quest, it automatically awards you the rank in-game, but not the achievement.
After two attempts, I have decided that 5 bonus points just isn't worth it. Not that I couldn't manage an easy badge... I probably could, if the game hadn't crashed firefox TWICE. There is a script in the game, that Flash had a problem with (I'm using the most updated Flash). Both times, it completely froze my firefox and I had to use the task manager to force-quit. With the other glitches people have mentioned, the game needs work.
A disappointment, considering it's from Armor Games. One would think, given the description and basic gameplay, that the point is to raise up the valve output, and then button mash to your hearts content. However, due to design or bug, you cannot hit space until the Combo Timeout is nearly empty. Of course, doing this also resets the combo, making the game impossible out side of tricks. Lucking into a perpetual bounce with launchers seems to be the best method, which means that this game is "smash a few until you can turn up the volume and place a few launchers, and then wait while the game plays itself." Very boring, and by far the worst game I've played from Armor Games. A disappointment.
Sadly, I can't rate this game what it likely deserves, because I am unable to play it properly. Yes, part of the problem is my touchpad, which is very sensitive and is constantly moving my mouse out of the game, which messes up my direction in the game, but the lack of an in-game indicator of where the mouse is, means I'm shooting blind after a few seconds of moving, when my mouse indicator disappears on-screen. Also, mouse+keyboard controls are next to impossible if I was not on a laptop, because I use my right hand to both control my directional keys and my mouse.
I, like many people, enjoyed the first game. This one? (*) Lack of overall mute button, -1. (*) Music Off button glitched, -1. (*) Randomized levels AND enemies (making some runs impossible), -1. (*) Overall frustration and lack of fun, -1.
(continuation) _(3)_ Very small "safe" areas for hitting enemies. I shouldn't have to spend half my time lining up a shot on an enemy, half of that time getting hit (which throws me out of alignment anyway), -0.5 stars. _(4)_ In some rooms, entering it gets you hit immediately, if your timing is off. One room, I had to shoot from the previous resolution, which meant that the "safe" areas were smaller than I was. There should always be a safe area when you enter the room, especially the ones on new resolutions, so you can get your bearings before immediately being attacked, -0.5 stars.
I had to give this a 2. While the game is decently fun, there are some major flaws that caused me to give this rating. _(1)_ Lack of mute button. There is no reason for there not to be one, either in the game itself, or the right-click menu, -1 star. _(2)_ The game takes up more than my browser window. I use Firefox with tabs, and 1366 x 768 resolution (the highest for my laptop). There is no reason for me to have to scroll the screen to check on things like my health, when I'm on a very standard resolution. Without adjusting the scale of the game, it likely could be done shorter if the health bar and coin meter were on the side instead of the bottom, -1 star. (continued in next comment)
