I'm very happy this game stayed in 2D unlike the first wolf's bane, that was a very confusing format. Also, I really don't want to criticize the best game series of a decade (at least) buuuut I kinda preferred when the characters were human without all that supernatural flavor. I guess one could argue that the angelic stuff is symbolic and their struggles are still believably presented but I have this feeling they are becoming more and more OP in every episode and that irks me a bit.
I want to reset my achievements to start from the beginning, is it possible? I remember I used to come back to this game every couple of months and I had to unlock everything anew so I thought it just automatically does that but now it's been over a year, I think, and they're still there.
I just wish all of the VasantJ games were downloadable. I have a very weak internet connection and it takes sooo long to load even the shortest episodes. I'd be willing to pay for them, gods know they are worth it, just make them available for download!
The game has pleasant graphics and interesting mechanics. BUT the high waiting time, coupled ESPECIALLY with a random hire feature is a bummer and sucks the whole enthusiasm out. I mean, I wouldn't mind waiting for a building or sth like that. But when I have to wait an hour or more, just to get a useless worker who I will have to immediately dismiss AND try again with only the hopes that MAYBE this time it will be someone useful... no, just no.
I so love those games and I was trying to replay them all and... was the "Bell's Heart" removed from Kongregate? Is it named differently? I can't seem to find it and I know it's probably out of canon by now but this was the game that got me hooked into this Trader of Stories world and made me waiting for its future games.
I absolutely love it! I remember the thrill I felt when I found the first Medieval Cop episode which stood out so much out of the flood of all those pay-to-wins, idles, yet another tower defences and so on. And I'm not any less thrilled with each new game of this dev. They are all perfect and I shamelessly admit I'm binge-playing them like crazy almost every time a new one comes out.
Also, it took me too damn long to realise why Arc gives only lemons to her guests. This has been a marvelous series and the newest installment doesn't disappoint.
I love the game, I played it once, in its early stage and I'm amazed how far it went from there. But I find it puzzling, why boars suddenly started appearing inside the fenced area? Is it a bug or is it supposed to happen? I didn't fence the whole island, I left them some roaming space and yet today I find three boars around my fields. The hell am I using those fences for?
Boars cannot spawn on top of fences/structures (and they can't even walk through fences), so placing fences outside your main town will keep them out. They CAN spawn on top of crops, and can spawn in large gaps between buildings and then wander into your town. Usually, 2 fences around the core town, and a few fences spaced out around the farms keeps them contained/controlled.
There is this riddle answer that I really don't agree with.
*MINOR SPOILER ALERT* (I guess)
When they ask what is good for your child, they give two extremes. The game answer is BOTH because "you need to balance both sides". That's... not quite the meaning that this BOTH has, you know? By choosing BOTH you claim that BOTH ignoring your child to work for provision AND ignoring work to play with your child is good. But NEITHER of them is good and that's where the explanation "because you need to balance" should go.
I've lowered my rating just because of the broken achievement. Yes, I did use the "missing achievement" button but the game was issued two years ago, not sure when the badge was added, but judging by the fact that 4 of 5 highest rated comments mention a broken badge - it's just not fair towards players to be so neglectful and indifferent to reported problems. If you don't care anymore - and having a paid full version getting quite popular on steam makes this understandable, really - then remove the badge and stop fooling the players.
I love it. I absolutely love it. It's designed really well and balanced - at no point was I bored or tired or frustrated. It gives a feeling of tangible progress during the game and a sense of reward at the end. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
On a different note, I don't know if I encountered a bug of sorts or was it on purpose: all the skill points were possible to rellocate apart from three or four that didn't work that way: revival after first death, restoring 35% life after dropping to 40% and 60% more damage for 3 sec, If I remember correctly.
I really want to enjoy this. Really do. But how can I enjoy it if I completed 9, F*CKING 9 chapters and had to turn it off because the game got so laggy that it was almost impossible to play and NOW IT'S ALL GONE! And OH MY GOD so cool that there is some fancy-schmancy something tool on the F*CKING MAIN SITE. I want my Kongregate achievement. What do I need to do to gain it, play until my laptop gets set on fire? Since it seems stopping = losing all progress? Why does this game even got achievements assigned if it has such saving problems?
As much as I love this game, there is one thing that always infurates me, as it always happens the same way: playing as a mage I get a ton of artifact-level-of-quality melee weapons and not a single one for mages. Not a single one. I get my first good weapon when this angel dude gives it for the mission, and not a moment earlier. I'd accept the randomness of artifacts' placement but I don't believe it's random, not when every single gameplay gives the same results. It takes half of my enjoyment, honestly.
Uhm, I don't remember from my previous playthroughs as it was some time ago, but now the game music seems to be sort of... crashing? At the starting screen and in the Trembling Star - it stops abruptly somewhere in the middle of the soundtrack and after about 1-2 seconds of silence it starts from the beginning. It's a minor issue but it makes it a bit harder to immerse in the story.
We tried and you're right... we're sorry, we don't know why it behaves like this, now, it's very strange! We posted the game years ago, and many things changed about the player we used, we should investigate about that issue. It's very annoying, and we apologize about that; we'll try to figure out the problem. Thank you for your help, have a great day and keep having fun!
No, it is still here. You can find by the name "The Trader of Stories".
